A/N: If you are familiar with my fanfictions, you probably know my rule: when it's written at the third person, it's your pov. When it's written at the first person, it's Darren's. Now you may enjoy my friends!

"Come on, man! Hurry your ass up. We're gonna be late" Joe shouted at me. He was waiting for me in the hall, while I was struggling to put my shoes on. We were meeting Joey and Lauren tonight. I was really excited. I haven't been out with them in a while, plus I had something to tell to Joey. He has been my best friend and confidant ever since he talked to me after the tour I did to the freshmen in college. He's by far one of the funniest, most caring person I know, and even, like all friends have, we had our ups and downs, never did he let me down. "Dude what kind of shoes are you putting on? Seriously?" Joe whines. "I'm here, I'm here, let's go" I said while I run to him in the hall. I followed him and he gave me a ride to one of our favorite bars in the city.

The guys were not here yet, so we ordered our drinks and talked for a while. I felt a tap on my shoulder and saw my favorite Draco, Lauren. I hugged her and the crooked jaw man behind her. "Y/n, your future wife, behind me, be nice, you're welcome" he whispered in my ear. He pulled away with a smile and I stood there, almost angry. Joey had that habit of putting me in these kind of situations. He stepped aside to greet Joe, and there she was. Y/n, huh? She looked nice. Actually she was very beautiful... But that's not the point! I shook her hand (yeah I know, I was mad ok?), and as soon as I could, I went to Joey to speak to him. I lead him to the bar and gave him a dark look.

"What?" Joey asked and shot his eyebrows at my look. "Are you serious? I told you to stop doing that man!" I said. "Doing what?" Joey asked back innoncently. I sighed and let him command a drink before answering. "Stop forcing me to date! I've already told you a thousand time, I don’t need you to be my love conselor or something" I explained. I tried to stay calm. I didn't really want to argue with him. "I know but she's different. She's smart, she's talented, she's gorgeous and you guys have the same interests!" Joey added. "Listen, I know you're trying to help me out or something, that's very nice of you, but please stop. I don't wanna date, and if I would, I would date girls that I want, and not girls that you picked and you thought would be good for me. I'm a big boy. I can do it myself" I explained more firmly. "But thanks bro. I know you're just trying to help. It's just not worth you doing that" I added. He nodded.

"Plus, I think I like someone already" I said very softly before taking a sip of my drink. Joey's eyes went big and a smile printed on his face. "What did you say?" he asked excitedly. I chuckled and looked away. "Did you meet someone? What's her name? Where?" Joey rambled. "Ok calm down Richter. I didn't meet her and uhm... I don't know her name" I admit. "Ok now that's creepy" Joey blurted out. "Hey! No that's not! Remember that thing we did in college? Sending letters to strangers anonymously?" I asked him. "Yeah" he said slowly. I was pretty sure he had no clue where I was going with that. "I kept doing it" I admitted. "So your girl is a girl from Letters From Strangers?" he asked confused. "Yeah" I smiled. "Darren, how can you like a girl that is only sending you letters?" he asked. So I told him. I told him all about her funny words and her story. How awesome her story seemed similar to mine, how she's into music and theater and we live in the same city and how natural she seems to be. Of course, I didn't know her name. I didn't even know what she looks like, but I don't know. There were something special about her that makes my thoughts filled with the words she writes to me. "Now you're just being cheesy" Joey said. "I'm not! Listen I-" "Hey guys!" A little cheery voice stopped me.

I looked in its direction to see Lauren and that girl. I only caught her stare for a second and looked back at Lauren. The last thing I wanted was her to think I'm interested. We greeted them once more and the blondie girl asked "What's up?". And of course. Joey had to say it. "Darren was telling me about that girl who sends l-" "Shut up!" I cut him off. Gosh, the awkwardness will never stop. "That was a private conversation" I shot him a dark look once again. I send them off as soon as I could to explain to Joey how I felt, again.

When our little discussion was over, we joined the girls and Joe at a table and start discussing. I never talked to y/n, mostly because I was angry Joey brought her. I kept talking with Joe and Lauren, until y/n shot me a I-Can't-Believe-You face. "Excuse you" she said pretty loudly. "Who do you think you are exactly? I was just talking" she said angrily. "What? Does everyone have to stop talking and listen attentively to you then?" I said back. I really didn't like her attitude. She chuckled nervously, and adds "No. You're not. But at least I'm asking for is respect". "Respect needs to be earn" I said.  "How can I fucking earn your respect if you don't even say a word to me huh? Because ever since I put a damn foot in this bar, you haven't say a word to be or looked at me more than 10 seconds!" she responded. "I seriously don't want to change that when you're literally screaming at me for no reason. Can I just enjoy a night with my friends or are you just gonna make it all about yourself?" I explained.

She giggled. Like an actually giggle. "That's the guy you guys see me with? Do you really think that we have so much in common?" she laughed. "Oh boy, that was a good one. Sorry guys, I don’t take myself very seriously, but one thing I'm sure, it's that this is never going to happen. I don't date jerks" she shook her head. "Hey! I'm not a jerk. You don't even know me! You know what? You and I have at least a thing in common: I'm 100% sure you and I are something that would never happen" I admit. The most annoying thing was the light smile on her face. "Nice. Well. It was very nice meeting you Darren. I will let you enjoy your night with your friends" she said. "Thanks!" is probably the nicest thing I would ever say to that girl ever again. She took her purse and put it on her shoulder. Lauren, Joey and Joe tried to make her stay, but she just explained briefly that she couldn't and that she didn’t blame them, and that they would meet again soon or whatever and left. "Good job, Darren" Joe said sarcastically before running after her. I opened my arms in disbelief. Lauren rolled her eyes and Joey looked pissed. I knew she was their friend, but one thing's for sure, she will never be mine.
