The next day, Sofia and Hugo were at the library, looking in Sofia's book to see what costumes they were going to wear for their ice dancing competition.
"How about this one?" Sofia asked, showing Hugo a colorful yet goofy suit.
Hugo didn't say anything—he just frowned and stuck out his tongue.
"Okay, no," Sofia laughed. She turned a few pages until Hugo found a great costume.
"Oh, that one's perfect," Hugo beamed. He pointed to a picture of a stunningly handsome suit.
"Wow, stunning," Sofia beamed.
Hugo bookmarked the picture of his suit and said, "Alright, let's find your costume."
Adara showed up and scowled the minute she saw Hugo and Sofia together. She went up to them and peeked right over Hugo's shoulder. Sofia and Hugo kept looking and stopped when they saw a goofily ugly dress.
"Ewe, that ugly dress looks like the one Cinderella's stepsister, Drizella, wears," Sofia gagged.
"Nonsense, darling," Adara smirked. "This dress is perfect for a princess like you."
Hugo glared at Adara as she laughed at her own remark.
"Actually, Sofia is right, Adara—the dress looks like the ugly gown Drizella wears," Hugo glared at Adara.
Sofia and Hugo were both surprised at Adara's rude remark.
During ice dancing class, Hugo was putting on his ice skates when Adara showed up.
"Oh, you know, Prince Hugo, I'm absolutely really good with ice dancing myself," Adara boasted.
"That's good to know, Adara," Hugo said flatly.
"Oh, it's very good to know," Adara boasted. "I also have won dozens of competitions—maybe even hundreds. There are too many to count."
Hugo was annoyed with Adara's dishonesty and boastfulness. There was no way she could've won dozens or hundreds of ice dancing competitions. Hugo had a feeling Adara was only saying that to get attention from him.
Sofia came walking by and saw that Hugo was barefooted, not wearing his skates yet. She knew Hugo could get sick if his feet were cold. "Hugo, shouldn't you put your skates on before your feet get cold?" she asked.
Adara was jealous that Sofia had come and was being kind to Hugo, and she wanted her to go away.
"Sofia, I'm busy talking to Prince Hugo," Adara rudely snapped. "Please wait your turn!"
"Princess Adara, that wasn't very nice," Garrick reprimanded. "Sofia has a good reason to interrupt. She's right—Hugo will get sick if his feet get cold." He went over to help his son.
"All right, champ, let's get your skates on," Garrick said. He helped Hugo put his skates on his feet.
"Okay, now let's work on that routine," Garrick smiled.
Sofia and Hugo got on the ice to work on their routine. Amber saw the jealous look on Adara's face.
"It looks like you're a little green-eyed because of my sister," Amber remarked.
"Yeah, what does Prince Hugo see in her?" Adara sneered.
"Aw, don't worry," Hildegard said. "He's not that interested in her. It's just an illusion."
Adara turned to Hugo and Sofia, and she saw the romantic, lovesick look in their eyes. She wished she knew what Sofia had that she didn't. Hugo's affection for Sofia wasn't an illusion.
"What does Princess Sofia have that I don't?" Adara pouted.
