Cheyenne's POV

I laughed as Kayla emerged from her room on Sunday morning.

"Dude, what happened...?" She asked.

I smiled as she sat down next to me and laid her head on my shoulder. "Six Guinnesses and one in the morning," I said petting her hair.

She sat up and pushed my hand away, crossing her arms defensively and sinking into herself. She focused on the TV, and I sighed and shifted away from her.

"What happened?" I asked.

She swallowed, looked down, and shook her head.

I sighed again. "Penguin..."

She took a deep breath, not looking up yet. "He touched me..."

"How?"

She was silent for a second. "Not...bad...just..." She sighed, "he...he played with the hem of my shirt...and..."

I groaned.

"What?" She asked.

"Member when you said that I always doubt things, and that's why I mess things up?"

"Yeah..."

"We'll, this is what you do. You get afraid, you can't trust and physical and emotional contact-"

"I know...I know..." She said looking at me, "You think I don't know this?"

"You start tearing up and I'll kill you,"

"I don't cry..."

"Exactly," I said looking at her, even though she boasted she never cries, I saw her eyes were red, and the tears that were never cried were building behind her eyes, "You don't cry. And that's why I'm so worried about you. You like him, don't you?"

"A lot..."

"Then why are you going to lock him out?"

"I'm not..."

"You know you are,"

She took a deep breath and swallowed. "I don't want to...it's just..."

"You're not going to be able to help it, K," I said turning to her and placing my hand on her arm. She flinched and I glared at her. "You're seriously going to have to try this time, penguin."

She glared at me and didn't say anything.

"I know you like him. You like him a lot, and I know that you have the potential to love him."

"I don't want to talk about this..."

"Kayla..."

She hugged her knees to her chest and glared at me, trying to intimidate me into not saying anything.

I growled and hit her on the shoulder, jumping closer to her and glaring at her. "If you're determined to make me try to do this right with Harry, I'm going to make you do this right with Niall. We've both daydreamed about these boys for...years! You know that he's the right one for you-listen to the signs, K! You are not messing this up. You are not pushing him away. You know this is right, and you're going to listen to me this time. Please, K, try!"

She was looking down past me, and she sighed. "It's who I am, Cheyenne, I can't change that..."

"It's a personality nitch, those things can change."

"Not. This."

"Yes," I said almost desperately, "you know this as much as I do,"

"Just, no..."
