Rocket caught onto the fact I wasn't changing back into my normal form when he tried to make conversation with questions like, 'I wonder what those moons are called?' and 'did you find anything interesting?' I wouldn't let the gazelle horn fall out of my mouth, even if Rocket had already spotted it. "What's the matter?" he asked. I nudged my head in the direction of the ripped clothes. "Oh... I'll be back in a sec." he ran off into the ship without a second thought. 'I wonder what he is retrieving?' my more literate language leaked into my mind as I started to drift into the amazingness of the whole planet we had landed on. Within a minute Rocket had returned with my Critterian clothes slung over his small shoulder. He laid them down at my feet, "I won't look, swear." He turned around with a paw draped across his vision over his right eye. I changed into my original form and gripped the article of clothing in my palms. I draped the fabric over my shoulders and zipped it from my pelvis up until it concealed my furry breasts. "You can look now." I told Rocket, he turned around to see my small wild fringe hanging over my eye. "Wow...you look amazing."
"I look the same as I did before." I told him. "Yeah, but you look different" he exclaimed. I noticed that my boobs were slightly bigger and my hips were kind of more...formed. "I guess this planet makes me feel more...whole." I explained to Rocket. I sat down, due to the sudden exhaustion hitting me. "I must've run...like... ten miles today." Rocket suddenly came with a statement that blew my mind away, "10 hours?! Holy Shit!" I had gone hunting for ten hours. "I was scared out of my mind, I thought you had been eaten by something ten times larger than you could ever change into." He stared at the grass like they were long lost enemies. "Do you care about me Rocket?" I asked him staring at the grass also. I could feel his gaze burn on my cheek, like some forgotten kiss. "Yeah...I guess I do. You're the only one I have ever met, that is like me. Except not is well. You know what it's like to be treated unequally, like some outcast and have seen and heard unkind things for almost the whole of your life. I hate it. What have we ever done to them?!" Rocket started to cry a little bit and I saw how painful it was for him to speak about this. "I was born into a normal family, we were treated like we were gay, or black, those judged categories, you know? My Mother was a doctor and my father was a P.E. teacher at the local school on Langoria, I felt...normal. Until hunters took my mother and father away, after they had stuffed me into a cupboard telling the hunters I had run off. The hunters killed my parents, right in the living room, where I could see them take their final breath. It was heart breaking. That was the first time I ever changed into anything. I lunged at the hunters and killed them right there. I ran off as reinforcements came clearing through the whole house. Burning it to the ground after taking my Mother and Father's fur and fangs for medicine and decoration. One day I'm going to find the hunter's hideout and burn the building down, so I can see the fur going back to their owners. I know it sounds stupid but my parents deserve justice, I deserve to see their killers bodies perish and one day, rest in peace myself." Rocket stared at me astonished at my short life speech. "You speak differently here than in the ship. Why is that?" He asked. "When I was 5, the LGA (Langorian Government Agency) took me to an orphanage after surviving in the forest for a year and put me in a school. I made loads of mistakes after not speaking for a whole year and having wild survival senses. I learnt faster than the average person can. I went through the SATs getting an A or A+ on nearly every paper. My classmates were jealous of my intelligence and thought I was a teacher's pet, hah. When In reality the Teacher's hated me too, I would correct them every so often for their mistakes and they would stare daggers at me, they thought I cheated on my exams and would sit me in a plain room with nobody except a tutor and check I didn't have anything with me except a pencil and rubber. I succeeded once again and they thought I had written on my fur with a pen and would brush through it every now and then looking for answers. P.E. was the only real subject I could just be relaxed in and play. It sounds silly now but I got bullied for being so perfect, One day during Basketball, my favourite subject, we were doing a GCSE match since it is a terran sport. When one of my bullies tripped me up and costed me the winning score for our team. After that day my team mates would corner me outside the school and make me pick up all my torn books after ripping them to shreds and drawing obscure things on them. I hated them, they didn't know I was capable of killing them right there, and then when I was finished, I tried to run back to the orphanage as a cheetah. But, being new to transforming for only 7 years, they pulled my tail and beat me up, right outside the school." I stopped, trying not to let the tears spill over my eye lids. "I thought teachers would help but... they would just watch at break, at the other kids making fun of my ears and now growing fangs. They would humiliate me at whatever chance they could get, they made me feel low about myself and nobody wanted to be friends with me for fear of being dragged into the situation. I grew into the high-school, I shrunk into the background when the bullying stopped and didn't raise my hand, when I forgot to not do it once, I came up with the wrong answer and got corrected in front of the whole class. It was horrible, I couldn't be judged with them thinking I was just an average person. So I got Fs on test papers to make them think I failed on purpose, I got held back after school and sometimes during lunch. Until finally, I got my first detention for scratching a 13 year old for asking me what species I was. He went to hospital and I sent him a card full of apologies, he did a paper on my species after finding out what I was and he stopped the bullying for the detention. He was my only friend for a while. 2 years later... its senior year and he gets a terrible illness, no cure. I wanted to cut off my own fangs for him, but he told me not to, his dying wish was for me to keep searching for the hunters and when I do, bring vengeance. He died that year. Nobody talked to me for the rest of it." I paused for a couple breaths in between. "I got into college after moving into my own house. Nobody adopted me once, for fear I was just some horrible house cat. I still wasn't over my best friend's death, the teachers didn't know that, so being the smartest kid in the class. She asked me a question about the circumference of Terra. I told her I simply didn't knew, she didn't take the crap. She got really pissed at my lack of work and shouted at me. Then my senses kicked in, I threw a 500 page hard back text book at her head, I didn't know what I did until it was done. I killed the teacher right in the labatory just as my parents were killed. In Cold blood." My lip started to wobble, I sobbed for a minute, I could feel Rocket's shallow breathing on my arm.
"I got sent to Jail for the first time, and I felt welcome in a crowd of outcasts. Nobody understood me, plenty had killed, and plenty had caused mass jail breaks. But I was still not normal. I realised, 3 years into my sentence that I was different and that is what made me unique. I made friends, they either left, stopped being nice to me or eventually just died. We would play basket-ball in the pits and it's what made me stay sane in prison. Some people asked if I wanted to escape with them, I rejected them each time and each time they thought I was a prick." Rocket laughed at that one. I smiled and carried on " things don't always last is what I learnt in prison, so... I just bided my time and after 5 long years. They let me go, just to be put back in again. A couple months later I had everything I missed in jail. A phone, music and a vehicle, all I had left to get and go was a weapon. That's when I came across my samurai sword in the news-paper. It was perfect, so I stole it that night. Made some mistakes and got caught, I spend 3 whole days in jail again. Then escaped with the help of three other langorians. I told them I would pay them back, but I'm broke. And here we are..." Silence filled the air as I finished my story. Rocket was quite astonished at it and he said he thought I turned into a beautiful creature. Wild and true, I thought he was extremely kind and hugged him. He seemed a bit taken aback by this act of kindness. "Groot is my best friend, I lost him once, and then I remembered what it was like not to have a friend anymore. I had three others at the time but I just felt...hollow." Rocket explained his feelings over the story of the humanoid saving their lives. It was like my story, except repeated in a different light. "I'm here for you Rocket, you know that right?" I asked him. He nodded. And we made our way back to the ship, with the Ivory blade in my hand.
We took off as soon as we boarded the ship. They were all raring to go and my energy was draining out of me the further away we got from the planet. I went to my new bed room as soon as we were in the quadrant again and I started to fall onto the duvet. I didn't bother with the quilt, I just fell into a deep, regenerating sleep. I dreamt of a flower slowly growing and slowly dying. It made me sad since Groot is a plant. I focused on something else it drifted me to a different planet. I recognised it as Claytex, it looked the way it always did, or the way I remembered it. The three langorians that had helped me on Langoria were walking in front of me, they walked straight through me and carried on talking about revenge stories, how they had served justice to themselves and felt more at peace. I knew there was no stories for them, it was all made up. They were just goating me on (pun intended). It still set me off, I clawed through the dream until I was in a pool of darkness once again. I woke up with my bedding torn all around me and feathers scattered on the floor. I could tell it was early morning. I don't know how, it was just my nocturnal senses kicking in. I got up again and searched for Rocket on the control deck.
