When Sage emerges from being unconscious, she remembers nothing but her own name, that she won the 72nd annual Hunger Games, and that rebel forces have kidnapped her from the Quarter Quell.

Her life is a mystery, and her mind is programmed to the Capitol. With a flip of a switch, they can make Sage believe everyone in District 13 wants to kill her, and she does.

Everyone, that is, besides Gale Hawthorne.

Her mind is full of memories of Gale. Dancing together, laughing together, being together. So imagine her confusion when the young and attractive Victor from District 4 keeps claiming he's her boyfriend, and that everything she's imagining is the cause of Vellichor Luthium. A toxic substance the Capitol emitted into her brain as a torture device.

Finnick struggles between his desire to kill Peeta for doing this to Sage and his inability to save Sage from her own mind.

Missing gaps in her memory slowly begin to come back into place, but not enough to suffice her trust. She promises to continue being the Muse, because her hatred towards the Capitol has not changed, but her feelings towards Finnick have...
