chapter 9

𝚔𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎𝚢'𝚜 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠

"What the fuck." I said a little louder than expected, I found myself frowning as I stared at the empty counter, "Those little rats!"

Sam walked out in suit, "What's wrong Kels?"

I turned to her, "Those rats took the cookies!" 

Kate gasped, "We warned them, come on ladies. We have skinning to do." Kate said, and she looked serious. Remind me never to get on her bad side.

"I'm going to fucking kill them, I told them not to!" Sam yelled, basically agreeing with Kate. Lucky for us- but unlucky for them- when Sam gets mad, she means business.

"No! Let's wait." I had a much better idea, something that would hurt worse than skinning them alive. "Killing them, too easy. What we're going to do is much worse. It's simple, the silent treatment."

As soon as I said it Sam gasped, "Kelsey you sly devil!"

Kate looked confused, "I get the mate pull is strong, but will not talking to them really be that bad?"

I looked at her with a mischievous smile, "Oh my dear Kate, our version of the silent treatment is far more brutal. Why don't you explain it for us, Sam?" 

She smiled evilly, "With pleasure. Our version is not only ignoring their existence, but our own. We don't talk to them or to anyone, eat, or sleep. Most of the time we don't even move." 

Kate gave us a devilish smile, "It's scary how alike we are." She giggled.

"So it's settled? The silent treatment?" I asked putting my hand in the middle. 

They both nodded, "The silent treatment." They said in unison while putting their hands in the middle.

𝚠𝚎'𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊 𝚍𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚗'𝚜 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗, 𝚢𝚊𝚢 !!

After Shane, Elliott, and I ate all the cookies we found our mates relaxing on the couch. I went up behind Kelsey and wrapped my arms around her. I expected her to react or acknowledge me but she didn't even relax or lean in my touch. "Kels?" I asked in confusion, but she didn't answer. Am I suddenly invisible and no one can hear me or see me?

I looked over to see Shane waving a hand in front of Sam's face, "Baby, come on!" He pleaded but she didn't move.

I groaned, they're definitely planning something. 'Shane, Elliott, let's regroup in my office.' I mind linked to them. They both glanced at me and nodded as we retreated.  

We hid behind a wall and even after we'd have been 'long gone' the girls still didn't move. I could hear Kelsey's stomach growling but she didn't make any moves to eat something.

'Why is our mate starving herself?' Kai whined. 

I bit my lip, 'She doesn't usually do this right? She eats regularly! Please tell me I'm not just stupid and I've been ignoring it.' I pleaded to him.

I was brought out of my conversation with Kai as her stomach growled again, "Why won't she eat something?" I whispered angrily.

I looked over and Shane shrugged, "I don't know man, does she normally eat?" 

"I think so. I don't know, I don't really watch with binoculars to make sure she is." I fiddled with fingers nervously, "I can't stand her not talking to me!"

Elliott nodded, "What did we do?"

"Oh my god, guys. We're absolute fucktards." Shane said facepalming. Elliott and I both gave him a confused look. "We ate the cookies!" He said throwing his hands in the air.

Oh my god.

I felt anger and worry cloud my senses as I stormed over to Kelsey, "Please tell me you're not starving yourself because I ate your cookies." She didn't say anything but she didn't look at me either, "Princess, please eat something. You don't have to forgive me."

I gave the guys a help-me look and they started to walk over, "I'm sorry, Kate." Elliott countered and Kate smiled before jumping into his arms.

I felt my eyes soften, "Princess, I'm sorry." 

Her eyes shot up and made contact with mine, they were pooling with tears. She wrapped her arms around me tightly pulling me close, "Please don't make me not talk to you for that long ever again." She whispered, and it came out a bit muffled.

I chuckled, "I won't, Princess." 

I went to release her, as I know she doesn't like long and tight hugs but she just pulled me closer, "I-I love you." 

My eyes widened before I looked down at her, "I love you too." I said with a smile before crashing my lips to hers in a short, sweet kiss.
