chapter 12

𝚔𝚎𝚕𝚜𝚎𝚢'𝚜 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠

I woke up in our bed, my skin slick with sweat. I looked around and the clock read eleven am, eleven! How long had I been out, why do I keep getting affected by werewolf problems? I'm human.

"Devin?" I called out. I bit my lip, where is he? "Devin!" I tried again. This time I heard his thunderous footsteps and our door flew open. I held out my arms and he pulled me into a bone-crushing hug, except this time he remembered to let go.

He caressed my cheek, "God you scared me, Kelsey. Please don't ever do that again." 

I sniffled and leaned into his touch, "No promises."

He shook his head as he laughed, "You always keep me on my toes." I tugged on him and he climbed into the bed with me.

"Wasn't like boring before I got here?" I said as I laid my head on his chest.

He nodded, "Very boring." We laid like this for a while before we both got up. Devin gave me a very long kiss before he had to go back to work. 

Then I headed to go talk with the girls about what I'd missed. The second I walked into Sam's room I was tackled to the floor by them, "We were so worried!" Sam yelled as she helped me off the floor. 

"Don't ever scare me like that again!" Kate yelled, pulling me into a loose hug. 

I nodded, "I won't I won't, what did I miss?" The girls looked between each other and smirked, oh boy.

𝚍𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚗'𝚜 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠

I have been thinking about it and I am going to propose to Kelsey. We've been together for a month and a half and I'm ready to take the next step, I just hope she is too. As mates, our relationship isn't what you'd call normal. "Devin!" Kelsey called, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Huh?" I ask as I look over and see her entering my office.

She giggled, "I've been calling your name for two minutes straight." I love her laugh.

I chuckled, "Oh sorry." I said as she came and sat on my lap.

"I just wanted to ask you if Sam, Kate, Elle, Raven, Alex, and I could go out?" She looked like she was just waiting for me to say no. 

But this was perfect timing so I nodded, "Sure, sounds good."

Her eyes lit up, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She grabbed my face in her hands and kissed me roughly, "I love you!" She yelled before running out of the room. 

Man if this is what I get for saying yes, I'm never saying no again.

After It was clear that the girls were gone I met Shane in the living room, "I'm going to propose to Kelsey tonight."

All of a sudden Shane started jumping up and down like a little girl. "I've been thinking of when to propose to Sam, we can have a double wedding!" He yelled.

Then Elliott came in, "Double wedding?" He asked with a laugh.

I nodded, "Wanna help? Shane and I are going to propose tonight." I told him.

His eyes widened "Of course I want to help! Kate is going to be so excited when I tell her-"

I cut him off, "Do not under any circumstances tell your mate. She'll blab!" I laughed and Shane nodded.

"What can I say? You're right." Elliot gave up, and we started to plan.

After a few hours, we had finished decorating the entire back yard head to toe in lanterns, lights, and decor. I heard the door open and Kelsey's small voice, "W-What is this?" She asked nervously. I smiled big as she walked towards me, "Devin?"

I grabbed her hands in mine, "I have a surprise for you, Princess." 

"What is it?" I knew she hated surprises, but hopefully she'll like this one.  

I got down on one knee and took out the blue velvet box holding the ring. When I did her eyes widened and she covered her hand with her mouth, "Kelsey, Princess, I want you to know how much I love you. What you did back there, protecting everyone was a true act of kindness and love and I couldn't be happier. You're my soulmate, my Luna, and my everything. I can't imagine spending my life with anyone but you- will you marry me?" As I said this I flipped it open, showing the ring. 

She stood there for a second, silent tears streaming down her face before she nodded. "Yes." She whispered. I smiled big and slipped it on her finger. I picked her up by the waist and spun her around.

I looked over and saw that while I was having my moment with Devin, Sam was having hers with Shane. All I thought was the fact that I'm marrying my soulmate- and my best friend gets to as well. Double wedding, and I knew she was thinking it too.
