I grinned as I drank my coffee, last night Devin and I reached a new level in our relationship- he had marked me. I heard footsteps as Kate entered the kitchen, "Morning." I said nonchalantly.

She gave me a weird look before sniffing the air, "Kelsey! You naughty girl!"

I blushed crimson, "Kate! How did you know?" I whined slightly.

She giggled, "I can smell you! When you get marked it mixes your scents together."

I facepalmed, "How did I forget that?" We continued chatting until a guard busted through the door, "What is it?" I asked quickly, the shock leaving my body.

"Luna Kelsey, it's Evan. He's here and he's brought an army."

I dropped my cup and it shattered spilling coffee everywhere. I pushed any and all fear I felt to the back of my mind as I sprinted out the door. "Kelsey wait!" Kate called after me, but all I saw was red.

I didn't stop running as I yelled, "Protect Sam! I'm going to deal with this bastard!"

As I ran I heard Devin's voice in my head, 'What do you think you're doing, Princess?' I forgot that I would be able to mind link him because of the mark.

'Protecting her.' That was all I said before blocking him out. I ran and ran and ran, it wasn't for a few minutes that I heard Kate again, "Kelsey, wait up!" She wheezed as she ran next to me.

I nodded and slowed down slightly, we continued running until we arrived in front of Evan and his 'army.' "Well, well, well if it isn't my dearest cousin. Where is she?" He hissed.

I grimaced at him, "I don't like your tone." I said harshly. I had a pounding headache as Devin was trying to break down my walls, but he doesn't know the shit I've been through and how strong they are.

He was taken aback, probably not expecting me to talk to him like that. "Who the fuck asked if you like my tone? I want Sam, tell me where she is or I attack." He smirked, aw how cute he thinks he's won.

"That's cute. I've got a wolf pack of 2000 ready to attack at a signal, you think you've won? Hon, we're just getting started." I threatened.

He sighed, "What do you want from me, Kelsey?" He rubbed his temple in agitation.

I felt Kate lean and whisper something in my ear, "Devin is pissed, and he and Elliott are on the way. You have maybe five minutes." I nodded in response.

My head was pounding so hard I could hardly see, would you please just stop Devin!

I turned to Evan and took a step towards him, "What do I want from you? What do I want from you! I want you to leave us the fuck alone! What you have been doing to Sam is not okay in any way, shape, or form. You can't stalk her and call her your mate, and then expect us all to play all nice and just hand her over to you!"

He looked angry, but he took a step back. "I can and I will because she is my mate!"

"That's fucking disgusting, you disgust me! She is your cousin, you're not adopted! Even if you were that Is still disgusting! You're not laying a hand on her, you're leaving."

My headache was overwhelming, my brain was flickering. I let down my walls and the pain dissipated as Devin's voice sounded in my head, 'Please be okay.'

I groaned, 'Dev, I'm fine! You've got to stop, you're going to make me pass out!' I yelled back through the link.

"You okay, Kelsey?" Kate whispered and I nodded waving her off.

I threw my walls back up. I rolled my eyes as the headache returned and I put my attention back on Evan, "Yes you are, get off my territory." My words held so much power in them that it caused the wolves behind Evan to take a few steps back.

He turned to them, "What the fuck are you doing? Get back here!"

They glanced between me and him. I narrowed my eyes, "If you leave now I won't skin you alive with my nail file." That did it, they all took off running in the opposite direction leaving only us and Evan. I could hear his footsteps, he was close and I didn't have much time.

Pretty soon, I felt the familiar feeling of my consciousness leaving me as I felt sparks as strong arms wrap around my waist. I took that as my cue and let go as I went limp in my mate's arms. "Fuck, she wasn't kidding." Since he was no longer mind-linking me, the headache dissipated and I was fully conscious, but I still felt weak and couldn't move.

"What? She's so weak she can't even stand up?" Evan teased.

Kate growled in response, "Actually she's so strong, that she couldn't hold her walls up anymore!"

"W-Wait, she's marked? By who?" Evan asked, worry lacing his voice. There was silence as Evan realized my mate was an Alpha, "Where is Sam, who has her? I'm her mate- she better not be marked!" He yelled viciously.

I heard footsteps, "Kelsey!" It was Sam, she ran over to me and I felt her grip my hand. "I'm right here fuckwad!"

"Baby, come here!" Evan spoke lightly.

Devin leaned down closer, "Princess?" His breath fanned my ear. As my body erupted in more sparks I felt enough strength to open my eyes a bit.

"Fuck no!" I heard Sam yell, "You're not my mate, he is!" I assumed she was pointing to Shane.

Evan scoffed, "Sam baby, no. I am, remember?"

"How can you be my mate when his mark is on my body?" Sam asked loudly and I heard Evan gasp.

"Sam... baby.. no!" Evan's voice softened and I scrunched my nose.

Devin leaned down closer, "Princess?" His breath fanned my ear. As my body erupted in more sparks I felt enough strength to open my eyes a bit.

"Devin.." I whispered and he pulled me to him tightly. My eyes practically popped out of my head as I fought off the anxiety. "Devin, please." I cried. I wish this wasn't a problem, I wanted more than anything to be able to be held tightly like that- but I just couldn't.

He immediately let go, "I'm sorry, Princess. You just scared me." And I nodded as my eyes closed again, "Wait no! Stay with me!"

I whimpered, "Please Devin, I'm so tired." I complained.

"I'm going to end you!" Evan yelled which was followed by footsteps of guards who grabbed him, "Wait, no! Sam!" He yelled as he was dragged off.

I leaned into my mate's chest, "It's alright, Princess. Go to sleep." And I immediately complied.
