Sonic and Shadow decided to go out in the back yard. It was toward the end of the month, New Years was around the corner and it was two days after Christmas. It was a sunny day but the ground was wet and there was once a big mud puddle in the yard but it had evaporated, now the mud is just wet instead of a flood plus there had also been a wind storm.
Sonic decided to have some fun with Shadow so he got a bit of the mud on his pointer finger and walked up to Shadow. He wiped the mud on Shadow's patch of white chest fur while he was busy looking around the yard, checking to make sure nothing was damaged or if any trees fell in the yard. His chest fur now had clumps of mud in it. Shadow looked down just as Sonic took his hand away from Shadow's chest fur. He didn't look very happy when he noticed what Sonic did.
Shadow walked over to the mud, Sonic followed wandering what Shadow was going to do. He stood a few inches away from the mud.
Shadow: Come on Sonic, you got my chest fur muddy now it's my turn to get you muddy.
* throws a punch at Sonic.*
Sonic dodges.
Sonic: No, after I get muddy I will need a bath and you know I hate water.
Shadow: You should of thought of that before you got my chest fur dirty!
He picked Sonic up, Sonic squirmed trying to get out of Shadow's arms.
Shadow threw him down in the mud, not too hard. He didn't want to knock him out or injure Sonic, he was careful not to harm him.
Sonic laid in the mud for a minute, he was laying on his back side but he got up. He tackled Shadow and pinned him down in the mud but then he tackled a Sonic back and they rolled around in the mud.
A couple minutes later, they were really muddy. They both needed to get a shower. Shadow got up first, Sonic was too worn out that he didn't try to tackle his brother to the ground.
Shadow helped Sonic up once Shadow was standing.
Shadow: dang we're really dirty, we better go take showers.
Sonic: No... I hate water.
Shadow: I'll shower first and once I'm done, you get in. I'll stand next to the shower in case anything happens while your in there.
Sonic: Thanks Shad!
Shadow: No prob.
After the showers, Sonic and Shadow cuddled close together on the couch.
