When we got to the laboratory, I set her in my bed and began to tend to her wounds. Luckily, the only injury she had from today was the small cut on her throat which I placed a gauze bandage over it. I checked her previous injuries and rewrapped her bandages around her stomach.

When I was finished, I heard a knock at my door. I kissed her forehead and walked to the front of my home. Opening the door, I found Spirit standing there out of breath. "Come in. I have a medical bed she can lay on for me to examine her," I stated dully. "Has anyone found Soul?" I asked.

Spirit followed behind me and his footsteps could be heard echoing on the marble floor. "Yes. His body was found unconscious, but not beaten. They are assuming that a gas bomb was thrown into their apartment knocking them out almost instantly. He is in the medical wing of the school as the nurses are tending-"

"Bring him here." I cut him off uninterested in the rest. "I will examine his lungs because there should be some residue still residing in them. Then I will figure out what those things used so that we can see if we can create anything to keep anyone else from passing out." I opened a door that opened into my lab and I noticed him shiver. "Would you like to revisit old memories?" I asked smirking while lighting a cigarette.

"Hell no!" he cried out as he set his daughter on one of the examination tables.

"Then make yourself useful and go to Maka's apartment and look for a pair of loose pajamas and a day outfit for her to wear when I am finished with the procedure," I demanded as I snuffed out my cigarette and let out a puff of smoke before going over to a sink to wash my hands.

White-washed ceilings flooded my field of vision as I was laying flat on my back. I could feel something wrapping around my stomach and a patch on my throat. Goosebumps tingled all over my body as I remembered what had happened at the school.

"Am... I dead...?" I asked softly. My answer was found when I heard light snores to the left of me. I looked and noticed a nappy head of red hair. I smiled softly, thanking an imaginary force for keeping him alive, but that smile quickly faded when I remembered about Maka. "Is Maka alright?" I whispered to no one in particular.

Spirit stirred slightly and groaned. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes and looked at me sleepily. "..Maka...?" he mumbled as he yawned.

"No, it's me, (Y/N). Is Maka alright?" I asked again.

He shook his head and smiled at me while ruffling my hair kindly. "I don't know really, but I do hope my baby girl is..." he trailed off. "How are you feeling?"

"I feel alright, but what exactly happened?" I pondered while looking down noticing an IV in my left arm.

"Well that weird, creepy guy threw you out of the window and Stein dropped me, and he went running and jumping out the window after you. I transformed back out of weapon form and carried Maka over here, and Stein ordered that Soul was to be brought here as well," he replied solemnly, but his grave face was replaced with a smile. "I'm going to find Dr. Stein, so be careful. I am sure he will be thrilled that you are awake!" he cheered playfully.

I smiled, "Thank you, Spirit."

I watched him leave as I was left to my thoughts. 'Stein nearly killed himself to save me... So how are we both still alive?' I thought to myself. They were caught off a few minutes later when a slight knock was heard at the door. "(Y/N)?"

I heard a low husky voice from the other side and I knew immediately who it was. "Yes?" I called back.

The door opened revealing an exhausted looking Stein with a wrinkled labcoat and slight, dark grey bags under his silver eyes. "I heard you were awake, so I came to check on you," he mumbled while a light blush appeared tinged on his cheeks.

I giggled softly as I looked at his awkward form. "Come here, Stein," I called out to him.

He looked at me a bit confused at my change of posture. Obediently, he closed the door behind him and came over to the bed. "What is it, (Y/N)?" he asked as now he was genuinely confused. "Is something wrong?"

I shook my head as I peered up at him. "Will you lay down with me? You look tired, so I figured that you may have wanted to sleep..." I pointed out causing him to look away.

He turned his head back to me and gave a devilish smirk as the familiar glare returned to his glasses. "So you are asking me to sleep with you, (Y/N)?" he teased, this time causing the heat to rise into my cheeks.

"N-not in that way... I figured you would feel more comfortable sleeping in your own bed..." I embarrassingly stuttered.

He chuckled darkly as he peered down at me. Taking my lips against his, he deepened the kiss making me gasp. He took his chance and slipped his tongue in my mouth and I moaned softly at the passion in his movements. He gently raked his hand through my hair and lifted my head towards him.

After a few minutes, he let go and pulled away leaving me out of breath. His normal composure returned as he took his labcoat off and followed with most of the other articles of clothing leaving himself in his boxers. I looked away blushing and closed my eyes.

I heard another low chuckle as I felt the bed dip in and a warm body pressed slightly against my own under the cover of the blankets. I felt something being removed from my arm and realized it was the IV. "That won't be neccessary anymore..." a deep voice whispered against my ear making me shiver. A hand was placed gently on my stomach and I felt more heat rushing to my face. "Don't cause yourself to get another fever, (Y/N)~" I felt his voice against my ear sending pleasurable shivers down my spine. "What to do with you," he paused as he stroked my hair softly. "Your woulds have healed, so what do you suggest I do?"
