An odd feeling continually rose inside of me as I followed Dr. Stein up the stone staircase of the academy. I held my arms crossed over my chest as I shivered slightly though I wore a black, long-sleeved dress that reached to the heels of my six inch high combat boots. I felt a feeling on my shoulder causing my heart to race in fear. I turned, but to my surprise nothing was there. Feeling another presence behind me, I turned again only this time to be face-to-face with a creature that was covered in blood and had no face. Its skin was stretched over its jaws and eyes leaving holes where the nostrils were supposed to be and teeth to be seen through the parchment thin skin over its jaw.

I screamed in fright startling Dr. Stein. He ran over and blasted the creature a few yards away from me. "Are you alright, (Y/N)?" he asked with concern coating his voice. I nodded silently as the creature got up and more followed it as if it had an entire army of them. "Damn... There's thousands of them...." I heard him mumble frustratingly under his breath. Whimpering slightly, I looked up at him for any sort of command to get us out of this mess. He stood with a confident stance. Without looking at me, he spoke softly. "Weapon form..."

I nodded as I transformed into a long sword with Lord Death's symbol on the hilt of my blade. I felt energy swarming through my body as I felt our souls resonate together instantly with ease. I took a deep breath and let it out as Dr. Stein took control of my weapon against these foul and ugly creatures.

(Dr. Stein's POV)

I lifted her with ease as I allowed her blade to slice through the skull of one of the kishins. I smirked insanely as I noticed this was much like dissection. All of a sudden, my insanity began to take over causing me to lose control of my actions. I watched helplessly as my insane side wildly swung the sword letting it cut through anything and everything. Just then there was a scream and she was standing in her human form in front of me. She collapsed as I noticed a pool of blood surrounding her feet.

While I wasn't paying attention, a creature attempted to kill me, but she stopped it with her own body before killing it and collapsing to the ground. "(Y/N)!!!" I called out as my insane side receded leaving me to tend to her. I collapsed to my knees as I turned her onto her back to examine the damage that was done. I futilely wrapped my lab coat around her and picked her up bridal style to carry her to the nurses' wing.

While in the infirmary, I walked to a window and phoned Lord Death to inform him of the situation. "Hello, hello~" I heard the familiar, annoying voice call through the glass. "Ah, Stein, so glad to see you again~! How are things working out for you and (Y/N)?" he asked in his usual cheerful mood.

I looked behind me to the occupied medical bed and then back to the glass. "We were attacked on the front steps of the academy. If it weren't for her, the both of us would probably be dead...." I stated with my usual calm and collective voice.

His voice caught as he was about to speak. Hesitantly, he replied, "Oh, I see..... Then they have returned...." His voice deepened unexpectedly catching my attention.

"What do you mean?" I asked with a bit of curiosity cloaking my voice.

He sighed. "You will figure out soon enough, Stein. However, for now, you must tend to your weapon.... You will need her in the long run..." he stated with a calm voice though it had a hinting and demanding tone in it.

He ended the call leaving the room in silence except for her light snoring. I walked back over to her bed and examined the bandaging around her stomach and shoulder as well as part of her torso. I shook my head with a light chuckle. "Why must you always get yourself hurt...?" I asked softly aloud as I used my hand to lightly stroke a few strands of hair behind her ear and leaned over kissing her cheek lightly. "Sweet dreams...." I stated softly as I went through some of the paperwork left for me from the class.
