Chapter 3

"Hey look somebody's blushing" I smirked
"Shut up alley or you'll be dead. "
"Okay okay I'll drop you there at the airport. "
"Hmm, sure."
"Does Serene seriously...." I hushed
"Shut up ,and leave me alone."
I giggled and came back to my room. Thought of being alone in this house was horrible, that's why I was awake till he knocked my door at five o'clock.
"Get up driver." He smiled at me.
The drive was the most silent drive of my life, I was too busy in thinking about mom's reaction and the responsibility I'm left with.
Once we enter the airport, I could feel the curiosity about the trip he was trying to suppress .
"What's up? Still thinking about Serene ." I asked when he handed me morning coffee.
"What will you take to stop saying that? "He leaned.
"Fifty million dollars if u can afford."
I raised my brow and whispered in his ears.
"Even ur whole working body doesn't cost that much. It's just 46 million dollars." Evil smile take over his face.
"I've the best brain in the world." Hah got a point.
"I know ur IQ level, did I need to remind you?"
"Damn it Jake, it was so long ago . I've grown up now . "
"Nope it was almost one year ago, you didn't grow up in that time. At least not mentally, you skip more lectures, fight more with people around you, and what can I say about ur relationship with mom."
The last words really hurt so much.
"I did it for you. "I gulped my saliva. and tried to smile.
"You'll never know Jake. Never ." Little billion parts of my heart were shattered into pieces.
"Hey look here, I know you'll sort it out, I trust you." He smiled and patted my shoulder.And we simply leaned for goodbye hug.
I couldn't tell him about Mr. Halt and all those so called legal thing that my mother was planning for him. Couldn't tell him that he is the reason why I argue with mom about him and dad. Couldn't tell him why relationships were never my priority. And yeah couldn't tell him he's the best brother of the world coz he'll show off that.
We finally , well move apart.
Don't know why but it wasn't a happy goodbye.
I came home went to sleep again.
Mom wake me up at 10, Soph called me and fixed a meeting with her stalker boyfriend.
During lunch time she told me everything about him. He is old ,in his late 30's that was crazy Soph you are what 35 ?
"Don't go blank again Alice, I'll see you around at...."
"7 pm, Black bakery 12th lane. I got it Soph." I smirked
So, time flew and its 6.
I got Soph's call and she advised me to wear something sincere.
Well I followed and ended up wear dark blue denim, white t-shirt which barely covered my lower arm tattoo and black boots.
Sincere isn't it.?
I reached that place just 20 minutes late?I guess.Soph's red hairs are so easy to spot even at dim lighted restaurant.
"So you finally arrived 35 minutes late huh? "She hushed.
"Sorry, I really took a long time for the selection of clothes." Lie lie lie
"okay, meet Dr. Daniel Hardwick,
professor of New York university and researcher." A perfect grin covers her face.
"Hey" he stepped towards me and we shake hands.
I nodded and introduce myself. Didn't Soph just forgot to introduce me?
But That dude was pretty gentlemen, I must say.
Never in that 50 minutes so called date he never checked his phone and I did it for a million times until Soph gave me the i'll kill you soon glare.
"So, are you single?" He sipped from green bottle.
"Yeah love is not my kinda thing. All boys wants is girl's body". And my tongue worked faster than my brain.
"I'm sorry I actually didn't mean that."I responded before anyone else could yell at me.
But Daniel gave me an evil smile followed by wide grin, that thing amused me. Soph was frowned but the emotional change on Daniel's face forced her to smile.
The topics keeps on changing from Daniel's childhood in Japan to his crush on history teacher named "Alice", from Soph's dream of being actress to her hatred for people with lots of tattoos, from my craziness about Iron man to Jake.
We talked, have gallons of beers and
tons of fries and millions of memories. It was 11 when I stare at wall clock , lately realized I should be home.
"I think I should go. Its late guys. See you later Soph and Mr Dr."
"Hah I like that name, but you can't go now. You are drunk , can't drive". He rubbed his hands on his face .
"I... I know how to drive. But I'm little sleepy now. I should sleep." I snapped
"You can't Alice, he's right. "She smiled.
I stand on my feets and started a shivered walk.
I could listen to their giggling behind my back. I smiled and laughed without turning back.
"Drunk..? Don't worry I'll drop you."
I looked up for old known face.
