Chapter 4

"Steve ??" I was literally shocked.
"Hey , had a hungover ?" He raised his brow and hold my arm.
"Nooooo what the Fuck are you doin here and hey.... I'm not drunk. "I shoved off him and well... little bit imbalanced.
"Don't be a fucking kid alley.it's not a big deal " he shrugged maybe.
"Don't ever call me that, never."I serious look covered my face and all the alcohol left my mind in a heartbeat.
"Okay sorry." He hushed.Silence stormed the conversation.
"Can I drop you now?"
I turned back to check Soph and Mr Dr. They were laughing and drinking again.
Unconscious I followed him in the parking lot.
The weather was undoubtedly punishing me ,cold winds easily penetrate through my t-shirt. A fine shiver crossed my body and I got goosebumps.
I was actually glad to found him. At least I may reach home at ten fifty or something and his car was warm.
"So, how's Jake?"
"He's fine"
Seriously this question?
He turned on the radio and the nights was playing on, it was my favorite so I recognized it. Fifteen minutes passed. And that dream keeps on hitting me as I stared out of window.
"So.." good good go on irritate me more Steve.
"So what?"
"Are you seeing anyone..?"
"Nope you made a horrible impression." Rude
"I said sorry a million times ."
"I actually wanna sleep now." My hungover was dominating in my battle of thoughts.
"No, don't sleep." Sounds concerned.
"Seriously, why? "I was curious
"I can't carry you home now you've gained some weight nowadays." Evil smile.
"Hah. True actually. Are you hitting gym or something?"
"Nice guess, just 3 weeks ago.  So You noticed , huh."
I laughed .. loudly.
"What?" He smirked
"Actually I didn't notice from your body or something I saw you in morning one day after that it was a pure guess." I explained with a grin.
"Home sweet home Alice."
I sat still no reaction.
"What's wrong? You don't wanna go."
"Do I smell like alcohol. " most stupid question of my life.
"How am I supposed to know that?" He leaned towards me and I look at those blue eyes, pure blue perfect blue.
"Oh hold your horses Steve."
"I'm not thinking anything dirty I swear. "Looks confident but never mind.
"Sure you didn't." I rolled my eyes.
Breathe testing check.
Hungover eyes check.
Walking straight.. let's see.
I passed that after stepping out of the car.
"Welcome ! Although I didn't heard you saying thank you." Mock mock .
"Because I didn't say that but Thanks anyway and , good night." I smiled.
"Yeah no prob good night." And he drove away.
I knocked the door. Thrice.

I called her by standing in front door.
"Hey mom, open the door."
"Okay." Her voice was trembled .
The door was unlocked and I followed her in the drawing room.
"Jake called for you."
"And?"
"He said he reached safely and the research work will start soon. And you can call him on different phone number. " she looked different.
"Okay. I'll call him. So sound so broken on the phone. Is there something wrong?"
"He told me to take care of you. And try not to fight over any issue. I thought Does he even know I'm your mother well he's not.and Why is he trying to rule you."
"Mom..." I yelled now she's crossing the line.
"Listen to me first." She shouted back
"But I realized he's trying to become a father for you, less brother more father. Alice "
Is it real or another dream for me.
"He's not ruling he's guiding. He will bring the best out of you. He cares a lot maybe cause he lost Catherine in front of his eyes. And you here standing in front of me half drunk."
"Mom....." this time my voice was so full of guilt .
"Its 11 Alice and you're coming home like this." She pointed towards me.
I don't know what to say anyone I was so happy she finally found the positive side of Jake, here I'm smelling alcohol.
"I'm sorry that won't happen again."
She patted my back.
" Be glad he's not home when you're coming home with a boy and drunk."
"Mom you know Steve, and Jake know him too. He won't be that much pissed off, like you are, I bet " Hate you my tongue.
"I mean he'll be if he actually did faced that. I shrugged." I spit it out fast.
She breathed heavily.
"Go, sleep Alice." She said and patted my back...again.
'Yeah sure , good night mom." I walked away.
I throw myself on the bed, fully surrendered.... the whole body weight was vanished now. I wanna think about mom's behavior change, my stupidity and Steve of course but my brain decided against it and I don't know when I fall for a long nap.

It was a hill, not mountain just a hill. I walked towards it ...
"Ah so you're here." He looked a lot like Jake but with long hairs and grown beard he look so different.
"I thought I'll die alone in here." His voice was deep.
" But you found me". Smile but
I could see his blue watery eyes.
"So, you met him. Didn't you?"
"It's a small universe, Jake." I smiled at him.
"Yeah it is. You met your dad too?"
"Hmmm, it was incredible." And my voice was choked.
"We have to get out of here. Soon."
No more tears in his only, determination.
"Do we have water in here .?"
"Oh yeah its mini earth.its half ice Actually".
"Do we have dinosaurs?" I kept asking questions.
"No no yet, maybe be there are but not in this region. We have barren land on one side and some algae on lake side. "
"Oh, good.So have you tested algae?"
He laughed "yep five times."
I joined him in the laughter.
"How's the temperature?"
"Stop asking questions for God's sake alley."
"We have to survived in here, we can't live in a place in this." I was in chaos
He smiled and walked away.
"We'll make history alley,history ."
