"Loki, let her go." The Gate keeper ordered with his golden eyes. "Not until you take us to Midgard." Loki persisted my neck quivering under the blade, I couldn't tell if he was acting or if he was actually threatening the asgardian with my life on the line. "Alright...just don't hurt the Critterian." The Gate keeper put his hands up in a term of...surrender, the gate keeper was not known for giving up, he protected the kingdom and all the people within it. Loki made his way to the end of the rainbow road and glanced down the edge of it, where space swallowed into oblivion. He gave the Gate keeper a menacing glance and a new smile I had never seen before, it was terrifying seeing him like that. Then the familiar beam of light came from the heavens to collect us.

When we landed on Earth, the first thing that I remember was the feeling of a large rock colliding with my back. "Fuck..." I mumbled into the air as I rolled off the hard surface. "A lady shouldn't utter words such as those." Loki said faintly off the side of my view. "I can if there is a reason you shmuck." He laughed half-heartedly at my feeble threat. "Where are you?" I asked the thin air and he teleported right above me. "Here..." his green robes billowed in front of me as he offered his hand towards me to help me up. I gladly took it. I swear to the gods I felt something happening between us, but I dismissed it just as easily as it came. I noticed the pattern that we had made on the grass around us from the teleportation. A faint pink blush started to develop on Loki's pale cheeks and I wondered what the matter was and then I felt the heat hit me over the land, "Where are we?" I asked him scanning the forest we had landed in.

"Somewhere in Midgard I suppose, most likely the Americas." I wondered what he was talking about, I've never been to Midgard, although I could change into their animals. I glanced around the forest and saw the similarities it had to my home, my home planet had more trees and flowers but this planet was close to being its twin, all the pollution in the air made me want to gag though. "It looks so close to home, except the heat is quite disturbing..." I wheezed as a layer of sweat started to develop on my brow. He just chuckled to himself, he must've been roasting in that armour he was wearing. "Aren't you hot?" I asked him, "Why yes, I am quite attractive..." I shoved him in the chest at his sense of humour. "You're insane, Loki." His name lingered in the wind. He just smiled at me as the sun hit his pale face, my fur felt warm in Earth's sunrays. I closed my eyes in the sheer bliss covering my being, a hum was held in the back of my throat as pleasure echoed at every corner of my body.

"Are you...purring?" Loki asked, my eyes snapped open at his comment. My electric blue eyes met his emerald green ones, "why...yes." I confirmed simply, the rumbling in the back of my throat dissolving. "We should find shelter, it will rain soon." I said suddenly, breaking the lingering silence. "What are you talking about? It's boiling on this planet and there isn't a cloud in sight!" Loki burst into laughter at my unreasonable assumption. "I can feel the rain coming, it will be here in about 15 minutes." I confirmed turning my heel on him. "Mairi!" he jogged up behind me, gripping my bicep. "You...can feel it?" I nodded at his question. "Either we find shelter or get drenched, up to you." I said with an inquisitive eyebrow. He let go of my forearm and followed me down the stream.

"Where are we going?" Loki asked. "Loki...how many questions can you ask in the space of five minutes?" I asked him, for a god he was very curious about everything...like always. "26." He informed me, I wouldn't be surprised if Thor had told him that, growing up with such a good look- I mean! Annoying brother. "Of course...26." I said panting, the rain would cool us off when it got here, but I didn't want to be in the middle of it. Just watching from a distance like the usual. When I was on my home planet... I would watch predators fight over meat, I would learn from them and fight for my rights with the other animals over a meal. We had only been following the stream for about 5 or 6 minutes when I spotted the perfect tree.

"Gods, do not climb trees." Loki declared as I made my way up the tree with my claws penetrating the thick bark. "Well the seven year old god I remember was in a tree when I snook into the courtyard." I called down hopefully for him to start climbing, but he just planted himself to the ground. "Anyway...can't you just teleport up here, I really don't want to get caught in the rain." I urged him. One minute he was there the next he was above me offering me his hand again. I retracted my claws from the wood and then carefully took his hand. My eyes met with his again and I started to blush underneath my fur. "You're cute when you blush." Loki stated, I just stared into his mesmerising green eyes. "How did you know I was blushing?" I asked him. "I can just tell." He said simply as he hauled me up onto the branch he was sitting on.

I sat down beside him as the rain started to fall, I shivered looking at the water collide with the grass. "You're scared of water, aren't you?" Loki asked, I just looked away he had gotten to my soft spot. "It's not favourable towards me." I replied simply, not meeting his eyes. I could feel his gaze on my cheek, it was tempting to get lost in those emerald orbs but it just made me shiver more. "Why do you shiver so much?" Loki asked, his questions were really starting to get on my nerves but I answered him all the same. "I do it when I'm nervous." I instantly regretted telling him that. "Do I make you nervous?" Loki asked mischievously. I just smiled, the rainy air making me breathe in calmly. "Sometimes, like when you press a knife to my throat." He caught his breath at the statement, "Well, if I didn't, Heimdall wouldn't have let us come here." Loki answered after a moment of deep thought. "I've never heard the Gate Keeper's name before." I just said, our conversation in the rain was just getting more and more interesting, talking to Loki under the canopy of the tree made me feel safe.

"I think it's stopped." Loki said standing on the branch, holding on to another one above his head to keep him from falling. The rain was only a light patter, but it made me anxious to step out of the safe tree. "Wait, not yet." My claws gripped into the bark as Loki almost jumped from the tree. As a god I don't think he could hurt himself by falling from that kind of height. But he just gripped onto my hand and pulled me close to him, I could feel the heat gathering in my cheek bones as he picked me up...bridal style. Then he jumped of the edge with me in his arms. I couldn't decide whether it was the best moment of my life or the worst. It would've been the best because Loki was holding me in his arms, I would've said the worst because in my natural form I'm not a fan of heights...or rain, no matter how light it was. I screamed and pounded at his chest as we went shooting through the air, I swear, I heard him laugh. I was too afraid to change into a bird or something though, that happens, fear clouds my mind and I can't focus on what animal I want to change into.

When we landed on the ground softly, I had my eyes shut tight and not wanting to open them at all as the light spray of the rain landed on my fur. It was definatly not a pleasant feeling. "You can open your eyes now." Loki told me softly. His voice sounded like silk but I shook my head firmly. I felt him place me on the ground and the feeling of water underneath my paws made me want to run back up the tree. But he kept on holding my hand and it kept me warm knowing he was there beside me. I slowly opened my eyes to see the light of the sun reflecting off the spray making small rainbows in the air...and to be honest, it was probably the best moment of my life. He was with me that whole time as he saw my eyes widen with wonder and it made him smile a smile I haven't seen since he told me he had so much fun that day we played a prank. It made me second guess myself about the mysterious and mischievous god. He may have done something awful to get into that prison cell, but...I loved him.
