Evolutions of Mary

 What a time to be alive! The kids are healthy... well Henry anyways, and we found out we are having a girl! I had to buy my own dress for the Academy Awards this weekend, and let me tell you it was not cheap! It was decided that Don and I were to attend the awards alone... Henry was going to stay at home with Uncle Harry.  

     The time was running short on the terms of pregnancy! Dress shopping was a disaster, and my mother was not helpful; likewise, I had though every dress looked hideous on me , which was most of the problem! I finally settled on a gold, long, and draping dress.  The dress showed just enough of my gigantic bump and hid the rest. Just as I thought we were done shopping....

"So, Meryl? Dear what are you and Don going to name the child?" Here we go, mom has to know everything!

"Well Mom, as you know, Don and I don't want to decide till we are the hospital! Now I know! I know! It's not supposed to happen that way but..." I knew I was about to hear a mouthful!

Mom decided to just give it up! I was given the standard of being the people pleasing child! See the thing is that my name is Mary, and my mother name is Mary. So on, and so on all the back! Your first girl should be named Mary, but Don and I have fell in love with the name Grace.  I hate my name, and when my dad started calling me Meryl, that's when I knew I was aloud to be different.  I knew that Don and I were going to end up naming her Mary either way it's just tradition,but maybe we would decide different. 

Evening of the Academy Awards.

   "Don, honey? Do you know where we are supposed to be sitting? I know I put that damn seating card somewhere in my purse! Augh!"

"Girl, stop! It is going to be okay! Look it's right here on the table, and I knew you may freak out with all your hormones, also being so close to the due date. "

That man! He knew how to just make things okay again. 

We arrived and it was all we hoped for. I mean... This isn't my first rodeo, nor is it Don's ; nevertheless. it's just a sudden wonder shock, while knowing all the ropes.
