The privet hedge a sparkle
of diamond after the rain
in this full sunshine
concave lanceolate, herethe leaves offer raindrops
certain evaporation
dazzle darkening recesses
sadness becoming namelessaftermath edges fraying
breeze ruffling like a hand
shaking out tears, sighs.Lorries carry-in many years;
pigeons lecture: 'Remember
common and human qualities.'
