Part 9
Cheryl's Point of view
1 week later
I was downstairs in the kitchen attempting to make breakfast for Kimberley and I. She was still in her room sleeping, I checked when I walked past it this morning. I didn't want to wake her just yet, I wanted to surprise her with some breakfast first.
Over the week, we had become a lot closer. We were no longer sitting in awkward silences at night, and we were always joking around. I still loved her, but because I was now friends with her, I didn't want to tell her how I felt about her. I still loved her and I knew that it was a feeling that wasn't going to go away easily.
Picking up the cup of coffee and the plate of pancakes that I had made for her, I made my way upstairs and into Kimberley's room. I sat on the edge of her bed and shook her lightly. “Kimberley” I whispered into her ear. “Wake up.”
“Don't want to..” She mumbled as her eyes fluttered open. “Five more minutes?”
“No, we've got a meeting in two hours. You need to get up.” I reminded her. “I've made you breakfast. Sorry if the pancakes are a bit burnt... I'm not exactly Gordon Ramsay or anything.”
“Thank you, they look perfect.” She giggled as she took the plate from me and started eating them. I watched as she tore the burnt bits off and left them on the side of the plate. I handed her the cup of coffee I made and she smiled gratefully.
“I'm going to go and get ready for the meeting.” I said, standing up and walking towards the door.
“Thanks for breakfast, I'll make it tomorrow.” She called as I walked out.
“No problem!” I called back. “You better make it tomorrow, because if I do, you will be in risk of getting food poisoning!” I heard her laugh and I walked into my bedroom smiling to myself. The girl could always brighten up my day.

“Cheryl, will you hurry up? It's freezing outside!” Kimberley moaned at me. We were standing outside the building where we were to have our meeting. I was having a quick cigarette before we went in. We were already running a bit late, so it didn't really matter.
“You can just go inside, I'll be there in a minute.” I replied, taking another draw of the cigarette and rolling my eyes at her. She jokingly stuck her middle finger up at me and walked into the building. After I had finished my cigarette, I walked into the building and into the meeting room. There was a seat next to Nicola and a seat next to Kimberley. I looked at them both, deciding where to sit.
“Cheryl, will you just sit down!” Hillary ordered, clearly annoyed that I was making everyone late. I heard Kimberley sniggering, making me laugh. Hillary looked like she was getting angrier, so I sat down next to Kimberley and laughed silently with her.
I knew the three other girls were looking at us, confused to what was going on. I couldn't blame them though, Kimberley and I used to hate each other and now we were sitting next to each other giggling like a bunch of school girls. Neither of us took interest in them though, it didn't bother us.
Nicola's Point Of View
I watched as Cheryl walked in and took a seat next to Kimberley. There was a free seat next to me and I was annoyed that she didn't sit there. She had seen Kimberley all week, why did she need to sit next to her? Sarah and Nadine were confused too, they looked at me as if to say 'what the hell is going on with they two?' but I just shrugged. Cheryl hadn't spoken to me much the past week, I had no idea what was going on.
All the way through the meeting, the two of them giggled and made jokes with each other, not sharing them with anyone else. This was something only me and Cheryl used to do... it was like I was being replaced. Halfway through the meeting, Cheryl moved her seat closer to Kimberley's so she could whisper something to her. Cheryl used to always whisper things to me in the meetings, was I not good enough any more?
*~*~*~*~*~*~ 3 Hours Later ~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Are you two coming to my house for a drink?” Sarah asked Cheryl and Kimberley when the meeting was over. Sarah had already invited me and Nadine, and we were both going. Kimberley turned to look at Cheryl, waiting for her to answer for them.
“Sorry, we're going to have to pass.” Cheryl answered as she looked at the time. “Kimberley and I have a very important date with the tv, and a bottle of wine.”
“We do?” Kimberley asked, raising her eyebrows at Cheryl.
“Yes, do you not remember we recorded the Corrie omnibus?”
“Oh yeah! We can't miss that!”
“Exactly, that's why we can't go out tonight!”
It was weird seeing the two of them talking like they were best friends. Not more than a week ago, they wouldn't talk to each other unless they had to. Soon enough, the two of them linked arms and walked out of the office, leaving Nadine, Sarah and I standing there.
“What the *duck* is going on with they two?” Sarah exclaimed as soon as the office door slammed shut.
“I don't even know!” Nadine replied. “It's so weird. Like they're actually getting along!”
“I know, I suppose it's a good thing though. I mean, if they become friends, then the band's relationship will be stronger... what do you think about it, Nicola?” Sarah turned to look at me.
“I don't know.” I replied as I shrugged my shoulders. “I don't like it... I feel like I'm being replaced.”
“Oh babe, don't think like that!” Nadine rushed over to me and squeezed my knee. “You're not being replaced. Cheryl and Kimberley live together, of course they're gonna be close now.”
“I suppose you're right.” I sighed. “I just can't help but feel it.” I wasn't going to let Cheryl replace me with Kimberley. Tomorrow, I was going to tell her how I felt about it all. I was Cheryl's best friend, not Kimberley.
