Part 26

Cheryl's Point of View

I walked over to the back of the stage to where mine and Nadine's water bottles were. It was the last song of the night, and this was when I was going to put my plan into action. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Nicola behind me.

“Do you think it's going to work?” I shouted to her over the noise of the crowd.

“There's only one way to find out, babe.” She shouted back. “You just need to try. We'll support you one hundred percent!” She hugged me quickly before pushing me forward to the centre of the stage.

This was it, I was standing on my own in the centre of the stage. All the other girls and the dancers were at the side and the back of the stage, taking a well deserved drink of water. I stood there, staring out to the audience. There were thousands of people here, and for once, I felt small, scared and alone. My knees began to go weak, and I didn't know if I could do it.

It's now or never.

I had to.

If I didn't, she could be gone.

Forever.

Taking a deep breath, I walked forward to address the audience. “Is everyone having a good time tonight?” I yelled excitedly to get the crowd going. I was met with screams and cheers, putting a smile on my face.

“Now, sadly, we are coming to the end of the show and we only have one more song left, but it's a great song and it's personally one of my favourites.”

I quickly glanced over at Nicola who nodded at me, encouraging me to continue.

“The song is a cover and it's a very special song to me. It brings back so many treasured memories with a very special person that's here tonight. Unfortunately me and this person  have had an argument, a big argument and it is all my fault.”

I took a deep breath, I couldn't back out now.

“So, Kimberley, come and stand beside me for a second, please?”

The audience gasped when they realised it was Kimberley I had fallen out with. If I hadn't of said, they wouldn't have noticed. I stood there waiting to see whether or not Kimberley was going to move, if she didn't I was going to look so stupid.

It felt like forever before Kimberley actually did anything. Slowly, she began to move forward stopping bedside me. The crowd were cheering wildly, but I blocked them out and turned to face Kimberley. She was all that mattered. She was staring at me with mixed emotions. I could tell she was scared and confused, but there was a small smile on my face which made me think she was happy about this. I reached out and took her hand in mine. My heart was beating so fast, it was like it was going to burst out of my chest.

“Kimba...” I started, as soon as I started speaking, the audience quietened down. It was so quiet that you could probably hear a pin drop. “You were nothing but nice to me, and then I went and ruined it all. It wasn't until after you had left me that I realised my decision was wrong. When  you asked me to choose between you or him, I chose him. Not because I didn't love you, but because I was scared. I was scared about how everyone was going to react about it all. I now realise that it was a stupid thing to be scared of because I love you more than anyone, and if I'm with you, no one else matters.”

She was crying and so was I, but they were both happy tears. She was smiling at me, it was the happiest I had seen her in months. After all that pain I had caused her, I had finally made her smile again. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the other three girls grinning foolishly. Their plan had worked. I owed them so much.

“What I'm trying to say is that, I'm sorry for the mistake I made. If I could go back in time and change it, I would. The time I spent away from you was the worst and I wished that we never had to experience that. There's something about you Kimba that never fails to make me laugh or smile. I'm not scared any more Kimba, I love you.”

“I love you too, Chez.” She replied through her tears. “I'm sorry too. I hated not being able to sit next to you or cuddle you. I really missed you.”

“There's no need to apologise, I was the one in the wrong. So, are we friends again?”

“Best friends.” She smiled before pulling me in for a hug.

The crowd erupted into cheers, making us both laugh.

“There's one more thing I want to ask you, Kimberley.” I said as we pulled a part.

“What is it?”

I took a deep breath, trying to get rid of all my nerves. “Kimberley, I love you so much. Will you be my girlfriend?”

“Of course I will!” She squealed in excitement as a fresh set of tears filled her eyes.

“Chim! Chim! Chim! Chim! Chim! Chim!” The audience began chanting. Kimberley and I grinned at each other. It was a relief to know that we had so many people supporting us already.

I turned back to the audience. “So, are you ready for the last song?”

However, before it could start, Sarah chipped in. “Hang on, hang on!” She made her way to stand next to me and Kimberley. “We can't do the last song until we see a Chim kiss!” She cackled, and Nadine and Nicola did too.

“CHIM KISS! CHIM KISS!” Nicola, Nadine and Sarah all began to chant. The audience began chanting it too, and I turned to Kimberley to see what she wanted to do. I didn't want to rush anything.

She smiled at me, and before I knew it, I felt her warm lips brush against my own. Placing my arms around her, I pulled her closer to me. As the kiss deepened and grew more passionate, I felt her tongue push against my lips, begging for entrance. I had to stop myself from letting out a moan when I felt her tongue against mine, it had been so long since the last time I had forgotten how nice it felt. Slowly and reluctantly, I finished the kiss, pulling away from her. She was smiling at me, her eyes filled with lust and desire. I gave her one last peck on the lips before turning my attention back to the audience.

"We would also like to apologise to Kimberley's family who are out in the audience as this has probably come to a surprise to them. We do promise that we won't let Cheryl keep your precious princess up all night!" Sarah said quickly, before I could say anything. Kimberley's face turned bright red and I couldn't help but laugh, I found it hilarious and I knew her family would too. Not wanting to dwell on the moment for long, I decided that it was time to start the next song.

“Okay, let's go!” I yelled as the music began to play. Taking one last look at Kimberley, I winked at her before I started dancing and singing with the other girls.
