Briar's POV
Myles and I remained at the hospital until visiting hours ended- mum told me she was staying overnight, just to keep an eye on my fathers recovery. Abbey stayed at her friend's house which meant I would have to sleep home alone which I wasn't looking forward to.

Scuffing my feet on the ground, I left the building - getting a chill as the evening air greeted me. I fumbled with the zip, doing up my CDC jacket in attempt to hide my tanned skin from the unpleasant feeling.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I had completely forgotten Myles was with me until he spoke up: "I'm sure he'll be... Fine." He struggled for the right words. I didn't respond, only nodded my head thoughtfully at the gesture. Again silence split between us until we reached his car.

"Shit, we've been here for a long time!" Myles exclaimed agitatedly, glancing at his watch.
"Sorry Myles- you are the best for being there for me. I'm so thankful for you being in my life." I cuddled into his grey shirt, damping it in two dots where my eyes had been. I gave a weak laugh, embarrassed.

"That's what best friends are for- right?" He sounded... almost disappointed?

Myles' POV
Pulling into Briar's drive after a silent journey, the pretty girl spoke up; "Please Myles, stay with me." Her voice cracked, making it impossible for me to refuse.

I didn't verbally respond, I just clutched her hand in a reassuring way.
~~~~~~
The poor girl was traumatised- almost as if her personality had been chipped away; revealing a broken heart inside. In the time that I have known her, Ihad never seen her be this quiet in her life. Her bubbly personality had been knocked out of her by her dad's Unknown injuries. It was heartbreaking for me to see her in this state.
Briar was cuddled up in her double bed- covers pulled up to her green eyes which searched the room. I brought her a hot chocolate, made the way she loves it; breaking her deep thought when I entered the room. She parted her lips, I assumed to say something. Instead of letting her continue, I hushed her- putting the beverage on the bedside table. "Get some sleep now baby Bri." She smiled fondly at the nickname. Her delicate mouth curled downward once she saw me walk towards the door.
"My, where are you going?" She asked smally.
"Home,Bri. I better get a move on before I get drowsy."
"Stay with me."  I go to protest but pause as soon as one word breaks from her lips, making me stop in my tracks.
"Please."
