Maycee POV:
Maverick and I left Joey's house because maverick took me to get my last Christmas present, somewhere special, as he referred to it. I assumed it was at his house, but to my surprise we had gone to a pet store.
As we walked in the cashier greeted us so warmly by saying
"Buy any thing y'all want, btw we close at 3 so hurry up will ya"
With it being 2:30 we decided to take his advice and throw it out the car window by taking our long ass, mother fucking time. We saw bunnies, guinea pigs, birds, ferrets, and fish. But I wasn't satisfied and the cashier could tell. He walked out from behind the counter and motioned for us to come over to him. As we walked over we saw him grab a pair of keys and I became worried. When we got over to him he whispered something to maverick and then maverick told me.
"There is a pet in the back that was going to be sold to another pet store tomorrow that wasn't selling, and he had been her for 3 months. He wants to know if you wanna go look at it?"
I nodded my head yes and we meandered to the back of the store. Maverick was close by my side incase this was a trick. When we arrived near the cage, I heard a soft cooing noise. The man lifted the cover/cloth and there stood a baby Fox. I teared up and told the man I wanted him and maverick agreed. We took her to the counter and the man asked what we thought we should name her.
"Faith, after my lost friend. She took flight to where no bird has ever soared."
The man nodded and grabbed me a tag for her cage with her name and date of birth. I thanked him and we exited the building as he locked the door behind us and wished as a merry Christmas and happy New year. I never knew how much a girl could love a Fox.
(( here is the author's note :)Ok so I didn't update on Christmas but I will update a whole lot more :) this was suggested by -Taurus- who is also the faith that we spoke of. I will do more of kaitlin and Joey's POV in the next few chapters and we will begin to embark on our mystery cred adventures pretty damn soon. I hope everybody reading had a very merry Christmas and will have happy New year. Ok,I blabbed, GOODBYES ))
