"You'll be fine." Francis assured me and rested a comforting hand on my shoulder before crossing the spacious, nearly empty room and walked through another large set of doors. Once they closed behind him Marietta gently grabbed my elbow and walked me to the door, where we stood silently for a moment.
"You'll be lucky to live through a week with him." She informed me. Considering she glanced at my ring before saying it, I'm assuming she meant Alexander.
"So I've heard." I answered smartly.
She looked at me in surprise at first, but soon enough a grip broke her expression and she cackled to herself.
I ignored her and ran my fingers through my bangs. Now the waiting was getting to me. If I had to stand there for another second I was going to have a fit. Even though I was informed of this engagement yesterday, it seems as if I've been waiting a year to meet my stupid prince charming.
I took a deep breath as Marietta placed a pale hand on the door knob and used all of her weight to push it open. All the doors better not be like that. I'm not all that strong, but I guess if a little old woman can do it I can too.
Marietta gestured for me to enter and I hesitantly did so. Francis smile at me from the other end of the even larger room, but my attention was soon captured by the first other person I saw. Queen Victoria smiled warmly at me and was the first to shake my hand.
"I do hope they didn't rush you." She said kindly, still grasping my hand.
"Oh, no, I had plenty of time." I lied with a polite smile.
"Good, good, this way now." She urged and began walking me to the other two occupants of the room.
My eyes completely skipped over King Richmond and were captivated by my fiancé. My mother had been strongly mistaken when she said he was good looking. Frankly put, he is the most gorgeous human being that I have ever seen. He stood with his hands behind his back, shoulders squared, chin up, and broad chest thrust ever so slightly outward.
His jaw was strong, not opposed to the rest of his psychical appearance. His skin was darker than his parent's, which only accented his pleasing features more. The expression he wore was composed and emotionless and his ebony eyes were unreadable. On top of all of that, his black hair looked downy soft and well taken care of.
"I take it your ride here went well?" King Richmond asked as he firmly grasped my hand.
