"I couldn't begin to explain how much I don't want this, but there are things in life that I do want. There's no way to get out of this so I'm going to do everything I can to try and get along with him, but breaking him down is going to be a bumpy ride." Leo always told me that I gave good mini speeches, but their better when I'm angry and use colorful language.
"Oh you're an angel, Lillian!" Victoria declared and hugged me.
"At the moment I'd say it's more a mixture of me being stubborn and in denial than me being angelic." I said honestly as I hugged her back.
She laughed at that.
"I saw what you did at the table. I don't think any other girl would have the courage to test him like that." She told me as we began walking through the gardens.
"I don't tolerate being spoken down to so anyone who dares to is going to get a taste of their own medicine...even if they're my fiancé." I answered with a sense of pride in my voice. I always loved arguing because I can catch every mistake the other person makes in their reasoning. I'm good at getting people to leave me alone. I usually just tire them out and they give up.
"Just make sure he doesn't get too angry with you. I'm afraid of what he'll do." It surprised me to see that she had come to terms with her son's anger issues.
"I'll try." I agreed.
We walked in silence for a while, looking around at all the blooming flowers and taking in their exotic scents. The silence with her wasn't like with Alexander. It was comfortable and seemed like we could communicate without actually talking. It was nice to be able to breathe.
"Why don't you go back to yours and Alexander's section of the castle and get settled in. I expect you'll want some time to yourself to think." Victoria said after examining the white roses.
"I would, but I have no idea which way it is." I responded with a sheepish smile.
She giggled and looked around.
"Francis! Francis dear, over here." She called and waved him over. "Take Lillian back to her part of the castle will you?" Francis nodded in response and gestured for me to follow him.
We walked in silence for a while, until we were back inside the castle.
"So, I hear you've been giving prince charming a run for his money." He said, giving me a knowing look.
