"The Day Keira Rudd pushed
 me off a cliff"

[Day 2]

"NO WAY KEIRA RUDD?!", Jake White shouts too loud when I tell him that I bumped into the beautiful Keira after leaving his house yesterday evening. The goddess of Newport's High-School. Even king Michael Todd The First, how he likes to call himself, is trying hard to attract her attention. Those blue eyes combined with her curled, mahogany hair and the bright smile which never leaves her mouth is exactly what makes us men so weak.

Keira Rudd has transferred to school at the same time as Jake. She transferred five months ago and has been the talk of our school ever since. There are several nicknames going around in school and whenever you hear one of them, you already know that it's about her again, 1. Miss eye-candy, 2. Miss drop-dead-gorgeous and 3. Miss captivating.

I, on the other hand, prefer using her name because I hate it when someone loses their identity by being labeled. Sure, her nicknames aren't bad and indeed, she was captivating, drop-dead-gorgeous and an eye-candy, but why bother to deny her incredible name which easily rolls from your tongue? Keira.

"Shh!", I beg and he nods quietly.

Yesterday, when her small body collided with mine, I haven't recognized her due to my social awkwardness. My brain was definitely not working as it usually did and I can't believe that her name didn't ring a bell until I arrived in my bedroom. Her blue eyes flashed in front of my eyes over and over again. Her soft voice chirped through my ears until I had finally drawn the connection between her face, her name and my school. I was embarrassed, astonished and shocked at the same time. 1. I've bumped into Keira Rudd, the most popular girl after only five months since she'd transferred to our school which I was absolutely stunned by. I'd stopped counting how often I typed the words "How to gain popularity while being yourself" into Google without getting a satisfying answer to my question. 2. I've apologized five times in total because I didn't know what else to say. 3. I had smart-panted her by telling her that using the word again was out of order. 4. I'd blushed like a boy who had his first close contact with a girl which was true, speaking of embarrassment. 5. I didn't recognize her name even after seeing her so happy when she recognized me. Holy cow! She actually knew who I was.

Maybe she had already forgotten about our small encounter.

"Wait, she said that she wants to be friends? Are you shitting me, Riley?", Jake asks after letting the information seeping in.

"Maybe she already forgot about the little incident. I mean I caused her apples to fall onto the ground", my reply causes a laughter to escape out of his mouth. Thank the lord that there aren't a lot of people around.

"What if she didn't?"

"I don't believe that a girl like her would talk to me in a place where everyone could see her talking to the school nerd", I answer and he seems to consider my words.

"She's a nice girl", Jake replies and I ask him why he believes that she's nice. People change every day. They are like Russian Roulette. Sometimes, the small white ball stops at a red and sometimes at a black number. Students attending this school are sometimes really friendly, but then, suddenly, horribly disrespectful. You never know whether the small ball stops at a red or black number. Just like you never know whether they have a good or bad mood.

"I have talked to her before. It was on that day when we both transferred to this school. She was new. I was new. We just talked about our hometowns and why we transferred. Keira was really nice and she laughed a lot about my horrible jokes. She tried to cheer me up when I've told her that I was labeled as a nerd in my old school which would probably happen in this one too", he explains and I stare at him with wide eyes.
