I look at him confused as he parks into a driveway with a car right next to us. The house looked beautifully done, the way the stone trimmed the bottom half of the Craftsman style home with the colours being a comfortable neutral. It just seemed perfect.

"Where are we?" I ask softly looking at him with a questionable look. Why did he bring me here?

"We're at my place," he smiles and gets out, running to my side and opens my door. "You don't mind right?"

I shake my head, "Not at all, and thank you," I smile back at him, there's one thing I've learned about this guy; his smile is contagious.

He leads me to the door, unlocking it before he lets me in and shuts the door behind him.

"Would you like anything?" He takes my hand and leads me to the living room and has me sit down.

I shake my head again, "No, thank you though," I say softly as I look down at my fingers.

"What's your favourite thing to drink then?" He switches his beautiful smile with, -forgive me, a sexy little smirk.

I pout a bit, receiving a smile and chuckle from him, "Well?"

"I like lemonade if you have that," I laugh quietly knowing already he wouldn't give up till I gave him the satisfaction.

Why am I saying everything about him is beautiful?

He nods, "La maison de Deeps does."

I giggle quietly, noticing the foreign words. I may or may not have studied French back in high school.

I sit up straight in the seat as he walks off to the kitchen, though I hear another voice... A feminine voice. What if he has a girlfriend and I've ruined everything for him? What if he's happy with her? I can't ruin something like that for him... I can't be a heartless person, especially when he is such an amazing guy.

"Lark?" he looks at me and a woman about my height stands next to him.

"Sorry," I say softly as he hands me the cup. "Thank you."

"Anytime sweetheart," he says softly and wraps his arm around the woman. I couldn't help but blush when he said that, but to him it could have just been a term of endearment. "This is my mom, Melissa and Mom this is Lark."

I smile and stand up to make myself seem less lazy, instantly making her giggle and pull me into a hug, "It's finally nice to meet someone at my height."

I can't help but giggle and hug her back, his family seemed so kind and just amazing, and I've only met his mom. "Likewise," I say softly.

I pull away from her and Jason looks down at her, "Mom, can you sit down... Uh, we have something to tell you," Melissa sits on the couch and smiles at him.

I look up at him quietly, I know what he's doing... But now? I don't want his mom to think of me as a... A whore...

"It's gonna be okay," he whispers softly and smiles at me, almost as if he knew what I was thinking.

I nod a bit while he continues, "The boys and I went out for Carter's birthday about three weeks ago..." He starts. "We went to a club and I met Lark there-"

"You're a stripper?" She yells looking at me and I quickly shake my head.

"No, ma'am," I say softly and look down as Jason sighs softly.

"She was there like anyone else, Mom... Anyways, well we both had been drinking and I brought her to the hotel the boys and I were at... One thing led to another and now she's pregnant," he explains softly as she looks at me with disgust written all over her face.

"I can't believe you slept with a... A slut!"

I feel tears well up in my eyes as I keep looking down.

"Ma'am I can promise you I'm anything but that... It was totally out of my character to do that," I whisper softly, ten minutes in this house and I'm already hated by his mom...

Jason looks at her, "She's not that in any way... Heck she didn't know really what to do anyways, she's a great girl, Mom."

"You've only known her in the club Jason Andrew! She could be lying about it being yours!" I understood where she's coming from with this, I was and still am that one time thing that is now going to burden everyone...

"It is Mom," he says softly. "The baby is mine and we've hung out almost ever since that's happened... She's not a bad person."

I look up at him, why is he lying? I deserve everything that she's saying about me...

"Did you get a paternity test done?" She looks at him and he looks at me.

"Um..." I mumble and think back to my prior classes. "I can schedule a Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity test any time after the eighth week... I'm three weeks now so in about five or six weeks I can get the test done to prove it... I can promise you, -even though you might not believe me, he is the father... If he wasn't I wouldn't have told him..."

She sighs and nods, "I'm sorry for my words Lark... I just, I want the best for him."

"I understand completely, I'd be the same way, I'm sure," I say softly and Jason looks at me.

"At least you somewhat know her right?" She laughs a bit to lighten the mood.

"That's why I've been busy lately... She's been down at the corner with me and then we hang out," Jason chuckles and I nod, I hate lying to her, especially since I'm already on her bad side.

She smiles and pulls my hand next to her, "So tell me about yourself."

"What do you wanna know?" I laugh softly.

"Anything you feel like telling me," she smiles warmly and Jason sits in the recliner doing who knows what with the remote.

"Well um... I'm twenty one... I was born in Sydney... I lived there for a while till I was fourteen and had moved here with my foster family for four years before my family had moved back to Sydney for my Gramps' sake."

"Are you planning on going to college or anything similar?" She asks and I nod.

"I've been taking online classes, it's more flexible for me..." I say softly looking at my hands.

"What about a job? How are you paying for anything?" She looks at me.

"Well, when I lived in Sydney I took on a few jobs every summer, which let me save up enough for me to pay for anything I needed... Plus I saved up birthday and Christmas money," I say softly. "And yes, I do have a job... My aunt heard I was moving here and let me take up some shifts at the coffee shop down the road."

Melissa looks at me for a moment, looking as if she was analyzing everything about what I had said, did she think I was lying...?

Her eyes brighten and she pulls me into a hug, catching both Jason and I by surprise, but by the look on his face, it looked like he knew what caused the sudden outburst.

"By chance... Are you related to a Jake and Ethan?" She asks pulling away, looking at me and I nod.

"Yeah... They're my parents," I look at her confused for a moment.

"And your aunt... Her name is Caroline?" She asks again looking towards Jason as if he should know what's going on.

"Yes ma'am," I say softly.

Melissa laughs softly and keeps her smile, "It was nice seeing you Lark."
