Iris:
I shove the key in the lock, dreading having to come home to my little brother. Just if your wondering, which you're a weirdo who's wasting their time listening to this bullshit, his name is Jake but I call him "Twerp." Anyways, he ruins everything in the house, always. He makes a horrible mess, and then mom comes home and he blames it on me before I have time to clean up after him. Long story short, he's an immature little brat, and he lies.
I finally get the door open, walking in and throwing my bag on the chair, announcing my arrival.
"I'm home! Did you manage to stay out of trouble while I was gone?" I shout, hearing no reply but only the sounds of his video game.
I roll my eyes, walking into the living room as I took my jacket off, and seeing a guy I've never seen before, on my couch.
"Um...who the hell are you?" This guy takes his attention off of the television screen, and so does the little twerp.
"Iris, this is Mike, he's my new babysitter. Mike, this is my big sister Iris" Twerp smiles at me, and I cross my arms, looking at this Mike guy.
Oh so all of a sudden the twerp has manners?
"We don't need a babysitter" I say sternly, looking at both of them.
"Yes huh, mom left a note" The twerp stands up to hand me a piece of paper, and I read it.
Don't pull a gun on him, his name is Mike and he's your brother's new babysitter from now on. Since you complained about having to watch him all the time, this is your present from me. Please get along! ~ Mom
I roll my eyes, throwing it beside me on the table, and I sigh, blowing a piece of blonde hair out of my eyes.
"Well I guess you're staying. Just...don't bother me" I couldn't help it, I'm not great on meeting new people, and another thing that doesn't help with my situation...he's attractive! Ugh!
"That's not any way to greet our new friend!" Twerp says, Mike giving me a smile. He seems nice, too bad I'm not interested in being his friend, no wait. Talking to him period is a better description.
"We're not friends, but it was nice to meet you I guess" We nod at the same time to each other, and I suck in a breath, narrowing me eyes at him and turning around quickly.
I go into my room, slamming the door, and just hoping they knew I wasn't for the idea at all. But I wouldn't be lying if I said I thought he was...
Mike:
Beautiful. She's gorgeous! I wanna get to know this girl. Iris, she's named after a flower? Oh well, it suits her.
"Hey, you ready to play or what?" Jake taps my shoulder, shaking the remote to his Xbox at me, and I shake my head a little.
"Oh, yeah" I pick mine up, and we got back to fighting zombies.
I wonder what he'd think of me if I asked him about his sister. Maybe I should bring it up slowly, start on the topic of video games.
"So...does your sister ever play with you?" Our eyes stay locked on the screen, and I can hear him scoff.
"Iris? Play video games with her little brother?" He starts to laugh. "No way, not a chance. Who wants her around anyways? She just makes everything gloomy and sad with that attitude she has. She thinks everyone outta bow down and serve her at her feet"
I listen to every detail, and use his answer for my next question.
"Well what does she like to do? There's gotta be something. Like hang out with friends?" He pauses the game, and frowns, looking down and narrowing his eyes as he looks back up.
