Third Person
The villagers head towards Helm's Deep.
"It's true you don't see many dwarf women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, they are often mistaken for dwarf men." Gimli says
Èowyn glances back at Aragorn.
"It's the beards." Aragorn whispers
"And this in turn has given rise to the belief that there are no dwarf women. And the dwarves just spring out of holes in the ground!" Gimli Gimli says
Èowyn laughs.
Gimli laughs. "Which is of course ridiculous. Whoa!" Gimli says and he falls from his horse. "It's all right! It's all right. Nobody panic. That was deliberate. It was deliberate."
"I have not seen my niece smile in a long time."Théoden says "She was a girl when they brought her father back dead. Cut down by Orcs. She watched her mother succumb to grief. And she was left alone to tend her king in growing fear. Doomed to wait upon an old man who should have loved her as a father."
Aragorn and Èowyn look at each other. The refugees have camped. Èowyn carries a pot of stew.
"Gimli?"Èowyn asks
"No, I couldn't. I really couldn't." Gimli says
Èowyn approaches Aragorn.
"I made some stew. It isn't much, but it's hot."Èowyn says
She gives him a bowl and spoon.
"Thank you." Aragorn says
He tastes and looks up at her, trying not to grimace. He nods.
"Mmm. It's good." Aragorn lies
"Really?"Èowyn asks
"Mmm." Aragorn assures her
Èowyn begins to walk away. Aragorn turns to pour out the stew, but Èowyn turns around. He recovers, spilling some on his hand.
"My Uncle told me a strange thing. He said that you rode to war with Thengel, my grandfather. But he must be mistaken."Èowyn says
"King Théoden has a good memory. He was only a small child at the time." Aragorn tells her
"Then you must be at least sixty. Seventy? But you cannot be eighty!"Èowyn says
"Eighty-seven." Aragorn says
"You are one of the Dúnedain. A descendant of Númenor, blessed with long life. It was said that your race had passed into legend."Èowyn says
"There are few of us left. The Northern Kingdom was destroyed long ago." Aragorn says
"I'm sorry. Please eat!"Èowyn says
Legolas
It is night. Aragorn smokes his pipe. I wander over and sit next to him, he looks up at me as I do so.
"Are you alright?" He asks me
"Not really, I miss Lyra. I feel like I'm going to lose her the more time we are apart" I confess
"I miss my sister too, you will not lose her, she will fight and some how you will be reunited" He says
"I hope so, after all this, I'm going to get her back I just hope I won't be too late" I say
"You won't" Aragorn says patting my shoulder "I'm going to sleep now, you should rest too" Aragorn says and walks away.
Third Person
The group is trekking again.
"Where is she? The woman who gave you that jewel?" Èowyn asks
Aragorn smiles but remains silent.
"My lord?"Èowyn asks
"She is sailing to the undying lands, with all that is left of her kin." Aragorn says
Háma and Gamling ride to the front of the column. Legolas stands a small distance away, scanning the surroundings.
"What is it? Háma?" Gamling asks
Their horses are restless.
"I'm not sure."Háma replies
A warg scout appears above them and charges towards them. The warg attacks Háma, killing him. Gamling fights with the scout. Legolas jumps from where he was standing on a high place and shoots the warg with his bow. Legolas kills the scout, but not before he yells out.
"A scout!" Legolas yells
"What is it? What do you see?" Théoden asks
"Wargs! We are under attack!" Aragorn shouts
The villagers panic.
"All riders to the head of the column!" Théoden commands
"C'mon get me up here, I'm a fighter. Argh!" Gimli orders
Legolas spots the warg pack running towards them.
"You must lead the people to Helm's Deep and make haste." Théoden says
"I can fight!" Èowyn says
"No! You must do this — for me."Théoden says "Follow me! Argh!"
"Forward, forward, march forward." Gimli Gimli commands his horse
"Make for the lower ground. Stick together!" Èowyn calls to the villagers
Aragorn and Èowyn exchange looks. Aragorn sets off to battle.
