Chris POV

I don't know where we're going so I decided to go in circles.

Not realizing where we are, I parked the car in an empty parking lot.

This place seems familiar.

"Why are we here? Seriously? High school sucks," Jane threw an exasperated sigh.

"Why are we here, Chris?" She asked again.

To be honest, I don't know.

Instead, "I kinda miss the place," I said.

I looked at Jane and I've never seen a look so disappointed before.

"Hey, we could grab a pizza later. My treat," I said to cheer her up. Successfully, she agreed to stroll the grounds of the school where it all started. Where LIFE started.

I can't believe it. It's been months since I visited this school. It brings so much memories.

And I also can't believe that guy holding a dozen books and trying hard to balance them.

"Hey, is that..."

"Oh yeah."

"But what-"

"Let's find out."

We approached Louis who looked as dumbstruck as we are.

"What are you doing here you guys?" He says, balancing one thick encyclopedia (2 thick encyclopedias and 10 not-so-thin Chemistry books).

"What are you doing here?" Jane asked.

"Here. Let me help you."

"Oh. No no. I can do this. Thanks anyway, Chris."

"What are you doing here, Louis?" Jane asked again. "I work here," he said.

Jane broke into a smile and asked, "What are you working for?"

"Uhhh. Teacher. Hey, really. I got to go. Nice to see you again guys." Louis walked as soon as the words sink in to Jane's mind.

And he stopped in his tracks.

"Why are you together?" He suddenly asked.

Oh. I should've thought.

"I - We... Uh.. We.." Jane shot me a help-me look.

"I was planning to take her on a date. But then we passed by here and I thought 'hey, we should check this out' and then we stopped by. You know. Cuz Jason's not here." I winked.

Please believe. Holy crap. I'm not good at lying.

Louis raised his brow," Surely, you know you have a boyfriend. Right, Jane?"

Jane blushed," Yeah. I know."

Before Louis could say anything, I butted in. "Of course I was joking! We're friends remember? Friends would stay friends. Right, Jane?"

"Yeah. Friends! We're just friends."
She tag along.

This seemed to brush Louis's suspicious look.

He sighed," I gotta get going. By Jane, Chris."

"Bye Louis!" Jane and I said at the same time.

He left. And so did we.

Jane's POV

It's nightfall. Chris drove me back to my condo after we ate dinner on a fancy restaurant.

He was leaving when I called him, "Hey, thank you. I had fun. Well, except for the girls who chased you while ago." I laughed. Thinking about those girls' face when they realized it was really Chris Madison. The look on their face was priceless!

Chris smiled. A genuine smile. Like the smile somebody has after they've been through a lot but there's something good about that day.

"I had fun too. Those girls were just hilarious. I never knew girls could run so fast." He laughed and so did I.

We laughed there until we got tired of laughing.

I never had this time with Jason. Yes, I do love him. But I cannot change the fact that he's always gone. Always at work. I feel alone sometimes. And this is the first time that somebody's with me for a whole day. Not just Diana.

"Hey," I said when the laughter had died," Do you want to stay for the night?" I didn't know what made me say this, but I kind of want it.

He smiled,"Sure. I got some time left."

I opened the door wide for him but he didn't come in. He stopped in front of me and my heart is beating drums and I can't understand it. I've never felt this way before. Sure, Jason makes me feel the same way but this is stronger.

He stared at me, brown eyes searching my soul. Revealing every piece of me. It was like reading a journal with nothing inside but secrets, you and only you can see.

"Chris.."

He lowered his lips to mine. His kiss is so gentle, it began sending shivers to my body. I kissed him back, feeling the warmth and the sweet taste of his lips. He kissed me harder that I can't do anything but to kiss him with the same intensity as he has.

"Chris - What about Jason?" I broke the kiss.

Chris answered, "He's not here, isn't he?"

"Yes. But-"

He sighed," I know. You love him," he said with a feeling of disappointment. "So I guess I have to get going." He stepped back and started walking for the door.

"Wait," I called.

He turned around.

"Stay."
