Chapter 4: Crush
Finally the lunch bell rang for the day and I was utterly exhausted. The first day back from winter break was always the worst and honestly when I went to St. Mark's I barely even attended a full day of school so this was all new to me.
AP biology with Shay was actually not that bad like she said. We actually got to do this cool taste testing experiment where we tried to guess the flavor of a jolly rancher while holding our noses.
I was eating a watermelon jolly rancher and I guessed that it was a grape one instead. I know I sound like a loser but, so far that's been the highlight of my school day.
The history of ancient civilizations in South America class actually wasn't too bad either. The teacher seemed pretty laid back and we ended up watching Indiana Jones for the whole class period.
Jillian was also in that class with me and while the ITSF leader is her dictator Jillian by herself isn't too bad. I actually found out that she has a lot of cool hobbies like horseback riding and cheerleading and since she was in that class with me we decided to walk to the cafeteria together.
"You know I really don't get why we watched Indiana Jones in that class. What does Indiana Jones have to do with ancient civilizations in South America anyway?" Jillian said and I shrugged.
"I don't know. What continent were they even exploring in that movie?"
"Yeah I have like no clue." Jillian raked her fingers through her hair and then looked at me with a pointed glare.
"What?" I asked kind of freaked out.
"So what's the deal with you and Parker Aimes? I mean I know you're dating Ryer Montague but, hey Parker's pretty hot himself." Jillian crossed her arms against her chest and raised a brow at me.
"Me and Parker? No way. His family was just really close to my family growing up. Our moms were friends in high school. If anything we're practically related." I say reassuring Jillian who gives me a half sympathetic look which everyone tends to do when I mention my parents.
"Oh yeah I kind of thought it was something like that. You guys act like really comfortable around each other ya know?"
I nodded in agreement. She had a point. While me and Parker hadn't seen each other in years it was like we just picked up with our relationship like there was never a time lapse between us.
"Yeah, I know. He's just the one person I actually know at this school." I admitted and Jillian put a hand on my shoulder.
"Well you can add me to that list now."
I laughed. "Good to know."
"Yeah Nicole was so certain you and Parker had something going on and I guess she was trying to mark her territory on Parker or something weird like that."
"Isn't Parker dating Eva?" I ask and Jillian stares at me for a few seconds than laughs.
"No silly he's dating someone named Emma but, yeah the point is he's dating someone and Nicole is being ridiculous."
"Why though?" I asked clearly confused by Nicole's behavior. After all she didn't seem to have that good of a relationship with the boys from what I saw earlier.
"Well besides the fact that the guys are obsessed with you." Jillian giggles to herself and a slap her shoulder.
"They are not obsessed with me!"
"Puh-lease not only are you the hot new girl from the New York City but, you're also practically royalty. They're falling all over themselves hoping you'll give one of them a second glance."
