Lawson's POV

~Just a couple hours later~

Everyone is asleep and I am so relieved that Logan is back and safe with me. I'm still a little leery of the new people though. I am glad that they will help us win the fights, but Logan can be a little naïve when it comes to reading other's characteristics. I have to ask.

"Logan? Can we talk?" I say.

"Of course. What's bothering you?"

"Do you really trust these people?"

"Yes I do."

"Okay, but you know how sometimes-"

"I can't believe that you still think I'm that stupid and innocent little girl Lawson!"

She turns away from me and sighs harshly. I place my hand on her shoulder and squeeze. She brings her hand up to touch mine and squeezes as well.

"I'm sorry I forgot how much you've grown up since all of this started."

Logan turns to face me again and I can see that she had been crying.

She says, "I was so lost without you in that cell Lawson. The only one who was there for me was Olivia. She didn't ask questions...all she wanted was for me and her to get through it together. So when you ask me if I trust her or them, I say with my life."

I am taken aback, but she is right and I have to start to learn to trust her instincts.

I say, "I'll tell the general to start the Grand Plan then."

She smiles and says, "Can we get some sleep now because I haven't had a good night sleep since I was taken the last time."

~Dawn~

I rise early. The general told me last night that a van would be waiting to take us to the underground base.

I kiss my Grandmother before I go to wake everyone downstairs. Last night after Logan feel asleep, I went to the group and told them the plan. They all agreed and I went back to Logan.

After I shake everyone awake I open the curtain to see the covered van waiting for us. We all file in and ride the twenty minutes to the base.

When we arrive the general and other level one soldiers flanking him. He says, "Welcome new recruits. I am General Onike. You all will be put through a crash course of military training and something special to enhance your talents. Follow me"

I start after him and everyone falls in line behind me. We lead them to a set of glass rooms with a hallway on the other side. I lead the pairs into their own separate rooms. The reason they are together is a training method. They will learn faster and better when they are more comfortable.

As I walk up and down they halls I observe their progress.

Olivia is quickly solving a code sequence on a projected screen. Nate is currently practicing weaponry and how to handle intense situations in war. A simple videogame simulator we reprogrammed.  He will be important in the control towers for the last attack.

Calum is doing a similar simulation, but he is also coordinating weapons. One day if we make it through this he will be an amazing Head Coordinator or even General. Harmony is the reason I have to wear earbuds and why she got the shatterproof glass room. She is working on higher pitches...she is almost at dog whistle frequencies.

Johnathan is our next Groundsman. He specializes in hand-to-hand combat, something we will need soon. So for now he is lifting weights. Kimmy, who claimed she didn't need training, is sitting on top of the bar Johnathan is lifting cheering him on.

After several more hours of observation I walk to the over comm.

"Great work...let's get suited up. We leave in thirty minutes."
