Birthday Job!

~~Lucy's POV~~
I stretch out my arms, yawning. A smile dances across my lips as I realize it's my 21st birthday. I look around, surprised that, for once, Natsu isn't in my apartment. I sigh. He missed out on the one day I would've let him get away with it.

I throw on a light blue crop top and white skirt and write a letter to my mom. This will be my first birthday with both of my parents dead, but I'm sure my nakama at Fairy Tail will cheer me up.

I summon Plue for company and walk along the side of the river to the guild hall. The second I open the guild doors, everyone screams, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCY!" I smile as all of my friends run up and hug me. Even Gajeel ruffles my hair and smiles.

Erza actually offers me a piece of cake. Gray manages to keep most of his clothes on. Natsu refrains from starting a fight. Even Cana doesn't drink more than 2 or 3 barrels. Today is amazing!

"Hello Miss Lucy! Happy Birthday!"

I turn around to see all of my celestial spirits smiling at me. We have fun, drink, party, and everything else Fairy Tail does. After 2 hours Natsu jumps up onto one of the tables and yells, "IF YOU HEAR YOUR NAME CALLED COME STAND BY ME.

LEVY
GAJEEL
MIRA
CANA
JUVIA
WE ARE GOING ON A JOB AS A PRESENT FOR LUCY. THE PRIZE IS 1,000,000 JEWEL AND EVERY LAST CENT IS GOING TO LUCE!"

The guild erupts in cheers and I'm shellshocked. 1,000,000 Jewel!

"Guys," I say wiping the tears from my eyes. "You guys are the best!"

~~Timeskip Next Morning~~
~~Gajeel's POV~~
Honestly, I'm not really a close friend of Bunny Girl, so I have no idea why my name was called. But I guess if Shrimp's goin I don't have a problem with it. Besides it is Blondie's birthday.

Just as I finish packing my bag, someone knocks on my door. "Open up, Gajeel! You're going to be late!"

"I'm on my way Shrimp. Calm your tits!"

I throw on a leather jacket and head out of the door. We start running but I look back and notice that Shrimp can't keep up with me. I sling her over my shoulder and keep running. "Put me down Gajeel! I run perfectly fine on my own!"

"You're too slow."

After that she shuts up and I smile.

~~Lucy's POV~~
"Come on Luce! We've gotta get there before the others!"

"NATSU! SLOW DOWN!"

I look down at our hands and blush. He woke me up this morning and threw some clothes at me

"Get up Luce! We gotta get to the train station!"

He literally dragged me out of my apartment half naked. He let me get dressed (finally) and dragged me here. To the train station.

We watch as everyone arrives:
Gray, with Juvia clinging onto him
Erza, talking with Mira and Cana
And finally Gajeel, with Levy flung over his shoulder, and unfortunately showing off her panties.

"GAH!" Gray falls down with blood pouring from his nose while Natsu stands there with a face the same shade as Erza's hair. "PUT HER DOWN!!!"

"What?," Gajeel asks, confused.

"P-P-PANTIES!!!!!"

~~~Natsu's POV~~
After waiting a few minutes for Wendy to come and cast a Troyance spell on both me and Iron Head, we hop on the train. Happy and I stare out the window and play I Spy.

"That's pink not red, Flame Brain!"

"Shut it, Ice Princess! No one asked you. And by the way, that's obviously red! You're just blind."

"What did you say?"

"Juvia thinks that Natsu and Gray-sama should stop fighting on Lucy's birthday," Juvia tells us, crossing her arms over her chest. "Juvia thinks it's very rude."

I snarl at Numb Nuts and turn to Luce. "Sorry Luce! I just got a little carried away."

She smiles at me. "It's no problem," she says, blushing. She looks beautiful that way, but I'd never tell her that. She only thinks of me as a friend and I don't want to make anything awkward. Especially not on her birthday.

~~Erza's POV~~
After a long 18 hours of riding on the train we reach the final stop, our stop. I remember reading the job description and wondering the purpose of this. It said to ride the Magnolia train until the very last stop of the day, get off, and ask a man named Death for our further instructions. It seemed ominous and quite odd, but we agreed and now here we are.

The Troyance spell wore of 6 hours ago and Natsu and Gajeel have been on the verge of throwing up ever since then. We wake them up and once they realize the train has stopped moving they bolt out, followed by Gray, myself, and the others. As soon as Lucy steps off the train, we stand there in silence. "What the hell is this place?," Natsu asks.

I've been everywhere in Fiore, and yet not a single thing about this place seems familiar. I turn to Levy and she has the same confused look as I do. Someone clears their throat and we turn to see an extremely tall man, taller than even Gajeel. He wears an all black cloak, white blocky gloves, and a skeleton mask. "Are you...?"

"Yep," he says enthusiastically. "My name is Lord Death and welcome to Death Meister Academy College!"
