Chapter 12

"You okay,Chloe?"-Sam
"Kian. Can I talk to you."-me
I looked at Kian as he got up and walked over to me. He followed me outside as I started talking to him.
"Something's wrong. Its either with mom or Candid."-me
"What do you mean?"-Kian
"I have an eery feeling that some things wrong. And I have a feeling it's about Candid."-me
"Candid is fine."-Kian
"No. He started fighting front line. Something happened."-me
He got up and gave me a hug. We walked inside and ate.

Later that day:
Me, mom, and Sam was sitting on the couch watching tv. When there was a knock at the door. Ill get it, I told mom. I got up and saw the army Chaplin standing at the door. I knew what he was about to tell me. I opened the door and started crying and yelling for mom when I saw the flag.

"Are you the family of Sergant Candid Dupps?"-Chaplin
Mom shook her head yes.
"I'm sorry ma'am. Candid was killed in the line of duty, earlier today..."-Chaplin
I took the flag out of his hands and fell against the wall. Sam came and comforted me. I heard mom telling the chaplins to come in. They sat on the couch and talked.

"Sergent Dupps was with a fellow soldier, they was riding in the Hum-V and a hand grende was launched at their vehicle. The other soldier survived with minor Burns while your son had major blood loss and 3 degree burns. I'm sorry ma'am."-chaplin

Mom showed the chaplains the way out. Before he walked out he handed me a picture of Candid in his uniform.
"He had this I'm his hand. Before he went he said the give this to you and to tell you he was sorry and he loved you."-chaplin

I took the picture from his hand and sat back down on the floor and stared at the picture.

This chapter was very hard for me to write because my cousin was hurt in the army and I'll never forget that day. I hope you enjoy it. And there was a bunch of tears shed will writing this. Hoped you enjoy.
