Daryl came home with a hundred bucks that day. He was pleased to actually be getting work and contributing in the relationship.
When he got home he saw Madison standing by the door with a big smile on her face. She was so gorgeous and Daryl couldn't wait to see her reaction when he told her about the money he made.
"Hey sweetheart," he kissed her lips and backed her up inside the house. "I have good new!" She exclaimed. "Me too, I made a hundred bucks." He pulled out a hundred dollar bill. Madison smiled up at him, "that's so great honey!" She wrapped her arms tightly around him.
"But, I called my parents and they deposited some money into my account." She said it calmly and smiled. Daryl couldn't comprehend what she said.
"Ya... Huh? But..." His confusion went away. She thought he didn't make enough money, so went crying to mommy and daddy to help her out. Of course her folks would send her money.
Daryl pulled away from her pissed. "I'm not good enough!" He yelled. "Daryl-" "I'm not man enough to take care of ya'! Is that what ya' think? That's why you called up yer' folks and begged them for money! Isn't it!" He yelled pushing chairs out of his way.
"Daryl!" She yelled. "No! I told ya' once I don't want help with money. I told ya' that I'd take care of it!" He pushed open the screen door and barged outside. The woods was were he felt at ease and that's exactly where he went.
Madison was back at home waiting on Daryl to come back. She loved him so much and hated that she made him upset.
Daryl was sitting in the woods with a few pieces of grass between this fingertips. "Fuckin' woman." Daryl never felt this kind of hurt before. It wasn't the kind where you fall and scrape your knee. It was betrayal, the worst hurt of them all. In Daryl's mind Madison didn't have enough faith in him to keep them going, so she went behind his back even after he said no.
If this was any other girl Daryl would send her packing, or leave for a few days. But this wasn't just any girl. This was Madison. His Madison. The girl who he fell in love with.
"Shit." He realized that Madison was probably going crazy not knowing where he was at. He picks himself up and ran back to the house. It was dark when he got there and he seen Madison on the porch as he approached the house.
She stopped her tears for a few seconds to look up and a weight was lifted off her shoulders. "Come one. Get yer' ass up and come inside." He said sweetly and held out a hand for her.
Daryl didn't like to see her cry, but it was better than her taking it out on herself as she usually would have.
"Hey. Stop yer' cryin'. I mean it." He warned. Madison quickly got rid of the tears and followed Daryl to the living room.
"I'm not mad. I just hate that ya' went behind my back and betrayed me like that." He explained to her. Madison nodded her head in response. "So, how much money e give ya'?" Daryl asked. He needed to know if it was fifty dollars or a hundred dollars that way he could pay it back.
Madison didn't speak. She was too scared to answer his question. "Sweetheart, jus' tell me." He edged.
"A thousand fifty." She muttered. Daryl almost fell over onto the floor. "What! Yer' tellin' me that yer parents gave you one thousand and fifty dollars!" He was yelling again and Madison flinched.
He could see the look on her face and cooled it down a bit. "Yeah." She whispered when he returned to normal.
"Holy fuck. It'll take me months to pay him back. Especially because I have no work." Madison placed a hand on his back. "It's okay. We can work it out with him. Besides, he wants us to come out within the next week, which is why he deposited so much money." Daryl wasn't as pissed now because the majority of that money was so that Madison could go see her parents again.
"They wanna meet me?" He asked shocked. "Of course!" She smiled. "They'll love you... Just like I do." She kissed his cheek and ran a few fingers through his hair. "You may wanna let me chop this mop you have here first." Daryl chuckled and kissed her.
"Yeah, gettin' kinda long." He said placing a hand on her knee. "Let's go buy somethin' to eat. I'm starvin'." He said. Madison and Daryl drove to Walmart and picked up a few grocery for their thanksgiving tomorrow. Since it was only them, they didn't buy a big turkey and got a few sides to go with it.
On the way home Daryl thought about the money her parents lent them. He thought it was a bad idea, because he didn't want to look like a bum, but now he was thankful for it because they had food and could pay off their bills.
