Madison kept the pregnancy a secret. She wanted to surprise Daryl with it and show him that nagging and nagging wasn't going to change her mind, even when she already knew she wanted a baby. When Madison realized that they could financially take care of another human, and that they were finally able to take a break and relax, she thought, why not have a baby?
Madison kept telling Daryl she didn't want a baby right now because she was afraid that if she did then he would get ahead of himself and then maybe change his mind. She wanted to know if it was for real with him. Her parents both already knew and that's why they invited them over last night. Brian and Miranda thought Madison told Daryl, but Madison wanted to hold it off for a little while longer.

It was Madison's day off today, she didn't have class and they didn't have her scheduled to work, so with the free day she was given she called her mother to take her to the doctors appointment. It was a simple check up on how she was doing. Madison took an at home pregnancy test about a three weeks ago, then told her mother about it. She set up an appointment date and it concluded that she was indeed pregnant.
"Hey, honey!" Miranda pulled her daughter in for a hug. As Miranda pulled away she noticed the glow radiating off her. Madison didn't look pregnant, but Miranda could just tell that she was. "You're glowing, sweetheart." Madison blushed and shook her head. "I'm surprised Daryl hasn't said anything. You and Dad are the only ones who have noticed anything." Madison was a little upset that Daryl hadn't caught on, but it was actually fun for her to watch him get upset about her not wanting a baby, when really she had a baby cooking away inside her already and Daryl had no idea. "He will, trust me." Miranda reassured her daughter and they drove to the doctors appointment.
The appointment didn't last long, about an hour. They weighed her, and took some blood, asked some questions and write down her last period. Madison smiled when they laid her down on the table to do the ultrasound examination. "This is a little cold," the nurse said and rubbed the gel on her stomach. Madison had her eyes closed until the nurse told her to look at the screen. There it was. A tiny spot. You couldn't even tell it was a baby. Madison already loved the small dot on the screen, even though she had no idea what he or she would look like. Glancing down at her belly, she laughed. "Daryl's going to be so excited!" Miranda was in aww at her daughters joy. She too was excited for Daryl's reaction to finding out about the pregnancy. They printed a picture off for Madison to take home. She was going to show Daryl tonight and tell him about the pregnancy. She couldn't wait.
Miranda and Madison went out for dinner after the appointment. "What looks good for you two?" Miranda asked her daughter who was gazing at the menu in delight. "Everything. I want everything." She laughed and heard her phone go off. It was a text message from Daryl.
At home. Where you at?
Madison quickly write back.
Out with my mother.
Daryl was sitting at him with a bouquet of flowers for Madison. He wanted to give her something sweet since he's been nagging her about having a baby. If she wanted to wait, he would wait. Even if he didn't want too. Daryl sighed, knowing that Madison probably wasn't going to be home anytime soon. He made himself a sandwich and would give Madison the flowers when he came home later in the evening.
Madison was enjoying the time with her mother. "You're grandma would've loved to see you and Daryl, especially now with a baby on the way." Madison gave a sad smile. She still wasn't over her grandmother. Cancer took her too early, and Madison would forever miss her grandmother. They had been awfully close to each other. She was a literally a second mother to Madison. "I miss her," Madison stated. "Me too." Miranda missed her mother in law. Brian's family was always very close to Miranda and that's how the two met. She's known Belinda, Madison's grandma, for nearly her whole life.
"They say when one life passes, a new one is born." Miranda told her daughter. "Maybe it was just a few years off." She laughed and rubbed her slightly swollen belly. Daryl would surely notice with the next month.
After having a day with her mother, Madison had her mom drop her off at the home. Madison went home and took a bath to relax, making sure the water wasn't too warm. Daryl would be home soon and she would have to start on dinner.
Madison chopped up some potatoes and put them on the stove. She then grabbed some chicken from the freezer and put it in the oven with some seasoning on it.
Daryl got ok time just like every other day. He came in the door, kicked his boots off, and headed towards the bedroom to change out of his oily overalls. Madison was in the kitchen still. Daryl washed up a bit and put some jeans on with a cut off shirt. He walked by Max and rubbed his head before greeting Madison with a kiss on the back of her neck. "I missed ya' today." Madison turned around in his arms. "I came home and ya' weren't here." He kissed her on the lips.
"I was with my mother. We were busy." She said and gave him a hug, taking in his musky scent. "Mhm. Do anythin' fun?" Madison instantly thought of the sonogram picture. "Yes. But it's a secret." She pecked his lips before getting back to cooking dinner. Daryl went and set the bouquet of flowers on the table and when she turned around she saw them. "Are these for me?" She asked smiling ear to ear. She picked them up and smelled them. They were real. "I wanted to apologize for bein' such a dick about ya' gettin' pregnant. I don't wanna wait, but I will because I love ya'." Madison turned around and jumped into his arms. She wanted to tell him so bad that she was pregnant because it was being so sweet the whole thing.
Madison leaned close to him and kissed his neck, pressing herself against him as tight as she could. "I love you too." She wanted to wait before telling him. She was gonna make it special when she told him about the pregnancy.
That night when they went to bed Madison felt sick. The food wasn't sitting well with her and mini me. Daryl didn't know what was wrong and feared she was coming down with the flu. Madison's doctor did mention sickness, and said it could occur at any time of the day. Sadly it happened tonight. After getting sick a few times she felt better and crawled into bed. Daryl wrapped his arm around her waist, resting his hand on her stomach. She smiled, knowing she held a little secret right below his fingertips. Daryl rubbed her stomach but didn't notice anything different. It was Madison. His girlfriend. The woman he wants to have a baby with. If only he knew, he got his wish.
