Madison was close to her due date and the doctor said it was just a waiting game. The weeks were flying by fast and she was ready to have this baby. She was sitting on the couch reading a magazine when she noticed some back pain and cramping in her groin area and she knew it was time.
Daryl was in the shower, washing his hair and humming a rock song to himself when he heard Madison scream out loud. He jumped out of the shower and pulled a towel around his waist before running out to the living room to check on her.
"Madi, babe? Ya' okay?" She shook her head no and cried out. "Oh my god. Daryl it's time. This is really happening." Daryl went into shock. He didn't know what to do or where to go. "Okay," he mumbled out before running to their room to pull on some clothes and grab her bag. "To the hospital?" He asked her. "Yea! Where else will you take me? Ahhh!" Daryl knew she was in pain and uncomfortable so he helped her stand and carried her to the truck.
He quickly got in and started to drive. Everything was so rushed at this point. Rushing to get dressed and get her to the hospital. Rushing for the baby to get her and now that the baby is on the way, Daryl was petrified. "Call. My parents." Madison said taking a deep breath. "Okay..." Daryl pulled out his phone and dialed Miranda's number telling her that Madison was in labor.
Brian and Miranda both said they were on their way to the hospital. Daryl put the phone down and drove to the hospital as calmly as possible. Daryl ran inside and told the front desk at the emergency room that she was in labor. They got a wheelchair and wheeled her inside. "Daryl! I fucking hate you. This is all your fault!" She cried as another contraction came and went. Daryl knew she was only pissy because she was in pain and he was the one taking all the hate. He didn't care though. This was the girl he loved and she was about to give birth to his baby.

They got Madison in her room and hooked up to the machines. She was only dilated to a two and it would still be awhile. She was against the epidural and was planning on just pushing the baby out herself with the pain medication they gave her. Daryl was pacing the floor of her room. He was anxious and it didn't help when he watched Madison crow out in pain. "Never again! I'm never having sex again!" She cried out and held onto the rails of the bed. Daryl ran over to her side and held her hand.
Brian and Miranda entered the room to see Madison crying out in pain. "Get out!" She yelled at them. "Oh honey," Miranda said. Madison screamed at them again. "Get out!" Miranda and Brian slowly backed out of the room to give Madison her privacy.
"Daryl. I can't do this. I can't." She cried out. "Yes, ya' can. I know ya' can doll. Do it for us. This is our baby, ya' gotta do it. I have faith in ya'." Daryl kissed Madison's forehead and sat beside her bed. It was all a waiting game now.
Hour passed and she was getting closer and closer to pushing. Her water broke and she was still waiting afterwards for the baby. Finally the time came and it was beginning to be too much for Daryl. He couldn't help but cry as he watched the woman he loved in pain to give birth to their child. "One, two, three, four, five. Very good Madison. A few more pushes and the baby will be out." The doctor said. Madison was holding Daryl's hand as she pushed for a few more seconds. Moments later they could all hear the cry of a baby, and Daryl was in tears. It was to much for him to take it. "It's a girl. Congratulations!" Daryl leaned down to give Madison as kiss and she was crying. "We did it!" She smiled. "No, that was all ya' baby. I love ya'." Daryl gave her another kiss.
Their little girl weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces and was 18 and a 1/2 inches long. After cleaning her and weighing her they placed her on Madison's chest for a few moments. Daryl looked down at her and was instantly in love. He would never understand how his parents could be so cruel with him because now that he had a child he would never think of hurting her. "Get my parents." She whispered and placed a kiss on her baby's head.
Brian and Miranda entered the room and Miranda had tears in her eyes. Brian gave Daryl a hug and congratulated him on becoming a father. Miranda was the emotional one of the two and she could wait to get her hands on that baby. "It's a girl. She's beautiful." Daryl spoke up. Madison was holding their little girl but the drugs they gave her we're start to effect her and she was tired, so tired she was about to pass out right there. "Let me have her." The nurse said sweetly.
"Where ya' takin' my baby?" He asked her. "We need to do a hearing test and vision test, Mr. Dixon." Daryl nodded and suddenly got worried. He never thought about having a deaf or blind baby, but it was possible. He prayed his little girl would be fine, but if she wasn't he would love her just the same.
Finally the nurse came back in and handed their little girl over to Madison. "Everything is good. We'll get her fed and then you can rest." The nurse said leaving to get a bottle. Miranda snapped a few pictures of Madison holding the little bundle of joy.
Daryl wanted to hold her so bad, but couldn't bring himself to ask. Madison could tell by the look in his eyes what he wanted so she moved over and patted a spot for Daryl. "Sit down, and hold her." She said. Daryl's heart was jumping and he carefully held the baby girl that was being placed in his arms by Madison. "There," Madison smiled. "You got your wish, Daryl. You have a baby." She kissed his cheek and let him take in this moment. Daryl dream actually came true. He had a girlfriend, soon to be fiancé, a house, a good job, and now a little girl to add to his life. "She's perfect. I love her." Daryl whispered out.
This baby was his. He made this baby and it amazed him how a human could come from one passionate night of lovemaking. "Do you have any names yet?" Madison asked him. "Yeah, and it's perfect." He smiled before kissing her on the forehead.
