hey, everyone
So I have been very inactive on WattPad since August, the reason being some clashing issues between my earlier, worse chapters, and the teens chapters in which I started to improve my writing. I can't even look at Chapters 1-12 without cringing immensely, and I don't think I can finish the story until they've been completely revised.
As I kept writing, there were quirks, habits and tidbits about Lana that I wanted to add into the story- or backstories, new twists that would have required mentioning in early chapters.
[Ex: I realized that it's pretty dang unrealistic for a girl that hauls loads of fish on a regular basis to have poor arm strength]. I couldn't change those things without editing early chapters, and I didn't want to confuse you all.
The only real solution here that I can think of is to unpublish all of my chapters and revert them to drafts, then slowly rework my way through the story, tweaking and editing sections I don't like. Then, once I make it to Chapter Nineteen, most everything should be sorted out and you guys will [hopefully] be caught up as well as unconfused.
I understand that this is probably frustrating for those of you that have already read up to Chapter Eighteen and don't want to go through the plot you know.
However, the plot is going to be slightly different- I'm talking new characters, different backstories and plot changes. So I do advice you to at least skim some of the early chapters once they've been revised and republished, in order to have a basic idea of what's going on.
I'm so sorry for the inconvenience of being inactive as well as majorly picking this book apart. Writers change and evolve overtime, which is why many people do have Rough Drafts and final versions of their stories. I know now that what I wrote early on is utter garbage, and I'm going to be guilty with myself if I finish a book that is not 100% my best work. [ya feel me?]
editing will begin during the first week of January.
