Stupidity

I fiddled with a loose string on the bottom of my shorts.

"Well actually I think the one you thought was really cute was Gray, but who remembers?" I shook it off with a laugh while I blushed uncontrollably.

"Brie come on lets go" Ethan said with a goofy grin on his face. I gave hugs and said my goodbyes. We were about to walk out the door when Ethan's name was called from the back corner.

ETHANS P.O.V

Shoot. What does this stupid kid want.

"Stay here Brie" I whispered. She shook her head and intertwined her fingers with mine.

"No way. I'm not letting you leave my side" she said with a warm smile. We walked around the corner and there he was. Nate Garner.

"Hey my man what's up?!" he looked at me and then looked at Brie, he looked at her, up and down for a good minute before he started talking again. "And this is...?" He said nodding toward Brie.

"This is Brielle, my girlfriend" I said standing up straighter. I slid my arm around her back and kissed her forehead without looking away from Nate. "What do you want Nate?" I said, rolling my eyes.  Nate shook his head and laughed. He laughed toward the table and then finally made I contact with me.

"Bro, what are you doing with a beautiful girl like this? Does Lyla know? Dude you're going to be in some deep crap with her man." I looked at him with fury in my eyes

"Shut up! We aren't even dating!" Just then my phone went off. It read

Lyla: Hey Eth when are we going to hang out I miss my little boo bear!. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Brie looking at my phone. She slipped away from my arm and looked Nate straight in the eyes.

"Oh trust me. Lyla can have her little 'boo bear' because I'm done here" She said. She looked me straight in the eyes, a tear fell down her cheek and then she stormed out of the Café.
