"Hot Lips"

As we walked into school people whistled and smirked at me.

"Why is everyone looking at me?" I said, leaning toward Kayla.

"Because you're super hot and You just kissed Colton Brooks!" Kayla said while squeezing my hand and jumping up and down. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. Kayla and I have the same exact schedule and lockers right next to each other so obviously we were meant for each other. I opened my locker and started to put my books in when my phone buzzed.

Kyle: I can't handle this anymore Brie. I just can't date someone that lives 373 miles away from me. It's just to much. Sorry :(

Me: Wow. I can't believe you, I don't really ever want to talk to you anymore you asshole.

I shut my phone off and shoved it in my pockets. Kayla and I walked to homeroom and sat down in two seats toward the middle. A few minutes later a group of boys with football jersey's came in. I immediately recognized four of them. Ethan, Grayson, Nate, and Colton. Ethan and I locked eyes and my heart shattered all over again. Kayla saw the look in my eyes and grabbed my hand and squeezed it. Colton sprinted over to me and sat in the desk next to me. He put an arm around my shoulders and winked at me.

"Can I help you with something, Colton?" I said giving him a grin.

Ethan's P.O.V 

Seriously? Colton freaking Brooks is already ruining my day. Can't he just stay away from Brie? I still have feelings for her. I watched as he whispered something in her ear and she nodded her head and giggled in response. Kayla was talking to Grayson and I could see the adornment in his eyes.  I went and sat down in between Colton and Shelby so I could hear what they were talking about.

"So you are 17 right?" He said while rubbing circles on her shoulder with his thumb.

"Actually on Friday I'll be 17" She said with that bright and warming smile of hers.

"I heard you're really athletic and really into the drama department, Right?"  He said while pulling out his phone.

"Oh my gosh yes! I play soccer and basketball and hockey sometimes. I also love to sing" She said and I could almost see her glowing heart though her shirt.

"Hey Shelbs" I said louder than I intended to.

"Hey Eth! How was you're summer?!" She said with excitement in her beautiful green eyes. I grabbed her hand and started to massage it.

"Great. It could have been better but great" She looked at me and then at our hands. She pulled her hand away and then looked at Brie.

"Real shallow, Ethan, real shallow." and with that she got up and moved to sit by Carter. I put my head in my hands and kept them there until Mrs. Kelly walked in the room.

"Attention!" She yelled and my head popped up. I snuck a glance at Brie who was still wrapped up in Colton's huge arm. "I will be taking attendance now so pay attention and listen for you're name." She called familiar names and names I had never heard before.

"Ethan Dolan?" She called out and I raised my hand.

"Present" I said. All the girls looked at me and started sighing. I was so over the "He's so hot" thing all the girls drool about.

"Grayson Dolan?"

"You bet" He said with a nod of his head. Kayla and Brie shook their heads with laughter.

"Brielle Gates?"  Mrs. Kelly said, looking up from her notebook. "Oh, Brie stand up please honey" Colton unleashed her and she stood up easily. "Introduce yourself"

"Hi guys. And girls I guess" I looked at her face and I could tell she was nervous. She had a tiny smile plastered on her face and her phone squeezed in her hands. "Uh I'm Brie and I'm from Arizona, I'll be 17 this week, I have one older brother and a cat named Puddle" She said her smile getting a little more real. Then stupid Shelby says "What do you're parents do for a living? Are you guys wealthy'' Brielle looked right at me and a single tear dripped down her face.

"Her parents are dead, idiot" I said under my breathe while looking at Shelby.

"I um they are uh- Dead" She gulped and then sat down.

"Thank you for sharing with us" Mrs. Kelly said. And with that she continued to do attendance. Brie fell into Colton's arms. I could almost here her muffled cries through his sweatshirt. he ran his fingers through her hair and wrapped his other arm around her. I felt my phone go off and slowly pulled it out of my pocket.

Brie:( : I miss you. Wish we still talked. You still mean a lot to me Ethan.

Me: Brie, I still love you and I know you and Colton kinda have a thing going on but you still mean so SO much to me. For real. And I miss you too
