Chapter 5: Everything Has Gone Wrong

"You can't be serious." I said.

"I've never been more serious." Mika said as he took his hands off my shoulders and walked up to the map on the table.

"Where'd you get that?" I asked.

"From Lord Ferid's mansion. It took forever to find though. The good thing about this is that it points all the exits here in the city."

"But what will we do about that virus out there?"

"We can come up with a cure for it."

"You really think we can do that?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing is too hard for the great Mikaela!"

"Don't get ahead of yourself." I chuckled. "Okay. I'm on board with this."

"Great. Nice doing business with you."

I walked in the back of the group behind Yuu and Akane.

"Wow!" Everyone exclaimed. They turned their heads to look at the scene below them, it was the entire vampire city.

"Where are we even going anyway?" One of the kids asked as we went up a set of stairs.

"I don't like the dark."

"Won't we get in trouble for being outside?"

"Don't worry, it's fine. It won't be long until we're saying bye-bye to this world." Mika responded to the children.

"Why?" One asked.

"I don't get it where are we going?"

"Tell them, Yuu." Mika said, looking at his map.

"We're going back to the human world." Yuu said, a smile on his face. "And guess what. We can have curry everyday!"

"Really?!" A girl said. "I wanna have birthday cake everyday."

"What about hambur--" Mika put his hand over the boys mouth to quiet him. Around the corner, two vampires were walking by.

We turned the corner to make sure they wouldn't see us and the second vampire turned back to look.

We rested at the stairs that lead to an enormous part of the building.

"Alright, it looks like we're almost there." Mika announced as he folded up the map.

"We're at the finally stretch."

"Yay!" All the kids cheered.

"Let's go." Mika said turning to Yuu.

"Yeah." Yuu said.

We triumphantly walked up the stairs and continued through the massive hall the only sound was the clicking of our shoes echoing off the walls.

We passed into the light of the hall as were just a few feet until we'd reach the exit. It was like the hope in our heart broke as a voice sounded. It was the noble from earlier. He laughed as he came into view.

"Hello, little lambs." He said. "I was beginning to wonder if you even snow up." The vampire stopped and looked at us. "Aw. Look at those faces. I love the look humans male when all of their hope has been dashed. It's so intoxicating that I can't stop playing this game."

"What game?" I heard Mika say. He went look back at the map but before he could do that, it was blown out of his hands.

"What...what's going on?" I squeaked. I could feel my entire body shaking. It was like I couldn't move. I managed to gain small control over body only to wish that I hadn't, I turned around and watched as the noble held the girl with pigtails and drank the blood from her neck. Blood dripped to the floor and he dropped her lifeless body to the floor.
