"Alex!" I screamed, clinging onto my twin brother's shoulders.

"Get off of me you freaking monkey!" He yelled back, gripping at my arms.

I was currently trying, key word trying, to tackle my brother Alex for not waking me up when my alarm went off. It wasn't going very well considering he was my high school's quarterback.

Alex dropped back first onto the couch where Austin, my older brother, was sitting with AJ, my 3 year-old sister.

"Watch it!" Austin yelled at Alex. Alex rolled on top of me making groan. I smacked the top of his head with my open palm.

Our German Shepard, Carter, was barking loudly and our cat Devil was sound asleep on the arm of the couch, her dark gray ears poked out and her dark gray tail dangling off the couch. She looked almost like a fluffy white pillow, besides her dark gray ears and tail.

"Andi! Boys! Breakfast!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.

I should probably introduce myself. Hi, my name is Andrea, Andi, Summers. I'm 18 and in my last year of high school with my twin brother Alex. I have an older brother named Austin who is 20 and still living with us. I also have another little brother named Aaron who's still in elementary school and a 3 year old sister named AJ.

My dad left my family when I was 14, when he found out that my mom was pregnant with AJ, bringing the total up to 5 children. Haven't heard from him since and I frankly don't care about him anymore. If he were a true father he would've stayed.

I have a best friend named Sky Ferguson, a colorful haired girl who also had a colorful vocabulary to go with it.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

"You guys excited for your last year in high school?" Mom asked Alex and I as we all pile into the kitchen at once. Everyone bunched around the small counter where a single plate of waffles stood.

In our house there's a eat or be eaten kind of thing going on. First come first served.

"Ecstatic." I muttered, reaching over Austin to grab two of the waffles. "Where's the syrup?"

Everybody froze, including mom. We all turned slowly to Aaron who was pouring the rest of the syrup on his plate. He looked up and gave us a lopsided smile.

Again, it's an eat or be eaten world in our house.

Sky took in my attire as we sat down at our table for lunch.

"My God, Andi. What the hell are you wearing?"

I looked down at my clothes. I was wearing some gray sweatpants, a white tank top with a matching gray crop top. I also had on my usual black converse.

"My usual lazy day clothes. Alex didn't wake me up today." I shrugged digging into my salad. "Doesn't matter. I've got practice later anyways so it's fine."

We were sitting at the table in the way back in a corner, away from everyone else. My brother may be a football star and be popular at school, but I hated the attention. I prefer to stay in my corner with Sky. I didn't need anyone else.

"Speaking of practice, who's gonna be your partner for the dance competition?" Sky asked, taking a bite into her burger.

"I'm not doing the school's competition. You know I hate dancing in front of classmates." I frowned. "I don't see the big deal, they can get someone else."

"True," Sky drawled, "But this year the grand prize for first place is 20,000 dollars to go towards the school and their college tuition will be paid."

That caught my attention. A paid college tuition would be great. But I'd still have to dance in front of a judge. And I haven't competed for, well let's just say a long time.

"Sky I can't. And you know why. Ad plus," I looked up from my salad. "I've got my grades to get me a possible scholarship.

I got up, picking up my tray. "I'll see you later Sky." She waved goodbye and I turned around, throwing my trash away.

A fully paid tuition.

I sighed. I just can't.

"Andi honey, come here!" Mom called, looking out of our kitchen window.

I got up from watching Courage the Cowardly Dog, and walked over to her. "Wassup?"

She pointed at the glass. "Look who's moving next door!" She exclaimed, waggling her eyebrows.

I peeked outside. I saw several men carrying boxes from a yellow Penske truck into the house next door.

There stood a woman, with dark brown hair with a few gray streaks, that were very thin here and there, all tied up in a pony tail. Her back was to us so I couldn't get a look at her face.

"It's the Matthews!" My mom finally bursted out.

I felt my heart drop. What? Sure enough the lady turned around. With her piercing emerald eyes, I could tell it was Anne Matthews my mother's best friend. I haven't seen her for four years.

She smiled and waved at me and I waved back, with a forced smile on my face.

If she's back, then that means...

A teenage boy with curly brown locks walked out the house. He was wearing a fitted black v-neck and a pair of jeans. He had the same green eyes as his mom and his teeth were as white and straight as ever. He had a sharper jaw line than before. He had also gotten a lot taller. From here he looked about 6 foot, maybe more.

"Is that Chance? My that boy has grown up. I remember when you two were little. It was so cute." My mom asked.

He looked up towards our house. His piercing green eyes meeting my brown ones.

I quickly dropped the curtains.

It's official.

Chance Matthews is back.
