The next day Chance came to school like he said. In the morning everyone in the hallway was pressed up against the wall as Chance walked by them, glaring.

He seemed to get along quite well with Reece and his friends, which was good. Anyways, back to this morning.

Chance came up to me when I was at my locker with Sky.

"He came back!" Sky whispered in my ear.

"I know." I whispered back. "He told me."

I smirked when Sky looked at me in awe.

"Andi." A deep voice said behind me. I turned around and saw Chance leaning against the locker next to mine. He had his arms crossed and I could see the tip of a tattoo peaking through and he was glaring at everybody.

Everyone looked at me and began to whisper.

"Hey Chance. What's up?" I asked, closing my locker. Sky stood frozen behind me, looking awestruck.

He quit glaring at everyone and looked down at his feet.

"I uh don't know how to get to my class." He mumbled under his breath.

I held back a smile.

"Here, let me see your schedule." I got closer to him as he handed me his sheet. He got up behind me so my back was pressed slightly against his chest. His head hovered over my shoulder and I could feel his breath hit my shoulder.

I blushed as his scent surrounded me. Why is my heart beating so fast? It felt as if my heart was going a thousand beats per second.

"Oh uh you have first period with me so you can walk with me there." I heard Sky cough and looked up to see her staring at me expectantly.

"Oh! Chance this is Sky, Sky Chance." I introduced, taking a step away from him.

"Hi!" Sky greeted, being her normal bubbly self. Chance looked at me before looking at Sky.

"Hi." He said with less enthusiasm.

"So are you Andi's new friend?" Sky questioned, stepping closer to him.

"Yeah."

"You're a man of little words. That's okay, I can make up for it. People call me a motor mouth but I don't talk nearly as much as Andi does when she's nervous or scared." Sky took a deep breath. "She just goes on and on with facts I don't even want to know why she knows."

"Sky!" I gave her a pointed look.

"Sorry."she looked at Chance who was wearing a small smirk. "So you're in our class right? That's gonna be awesome!"

I felt all eyes on us as we began to walk to our classroom. "Quit glaring Chance." I scolded, lightly hitting his chest. He looked at me before looking straight ahead.

"I can't help it. They judge me before they know me." He said quietly.

"So you're like Shrek?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

He grinned, the first time I've ever seen him smile a genuine smile. "Something like that."

It turned out that Sky and Chance got along just fine. Sky being the chatterbox she is got Chance to finally talk even though he threw in some insults, it was quite funny.

I had found out that Chance was actually already friends with Reece and his friends. He had met them in middle school and they kind of just grew on him.

So now Sky and I were currently sitting our lunch table with Chance, Reece, Seth, Cameron, and Ryder.

Again everybody around us stared and whispered.

"So you're the girl Chance has been talking about non stop since Wednesday." Cameron stated, looking at me from across the table.

"Shut up." Chance gritted out, jutting a leg under the table. Cameron yelped and I laughed.

"I guess so."

"How did you manage to convince him to come back to school? We've been trying for years." Seth asked before biting into his pizza.

Seth had dark brown hair but he had bleached it, leaving the roots there and his hair was styles into a quiff. He had bright crystal blue eyes and was a couple inches shorter than Chance.

Reece was taller than him, about 6 foot I think with softer light brown hair, cut shortly, pushed up at the front. He had blue eyes too, but his seemed more deeper and a bit darker.

Cameron and Ryder were identical twins. The only way you could tell them apart was by their eyes. Cameron had brown eyes whereas Ryder had steel gray eyes. The both has shaggy golden blonde hair which went perfectly with the tanned skin.

"I didn't do anything really. He just decided to come on his own." I shrugged, eating my salad.

Reece looked from between me and Chance but didn't say anything.

Sky and Ryder were chatting up a storm beside me and Chance stayed silent on my other side.

"Are you walking home today?" I nudged him with my elbow.

Chance's eyes widened for a split second before returning to normal size. It was so quick I barely caught it.

"Oh uh I forgot to ask you. Do you want a ride home?" He asked, tilting his head away from the boys and to me.

"Sure, that'd be great."

Lunch ended all too soon and we went our separate ways. At the end of the day when I got outside Chance was propped up against a brick pillar with his arms crossed and his emerald eyes closed.

People moved around him, leaving about a five foot radius around him.

"Hey."

Chance opened one eye, looking at me before he opened the other. He pushed himself off the pillar easily and walked over to me, his hands stuffed in his jacket's pockets.

"Come on." He mumbled, taking my hand in his. I felt my heart speed up as he gently pulled me over to his motorcycle. "Take this."

He handed me a shiny black helmet. "What about you?" I asked. I put the helmet on, strapping it under my chin.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine."

He lifted himself onto the bike before offering me a hand. I took it and he gracefully pulled me up behind him. I held onto him, my fingers gripping his belt loop.

"Lean with me when I lean."

He started the bike up before going on the familiar roads until we arrived home.

He helped me off the bike and then got off himself. I took off the helmet and handed it to him before patting down my wild hair.

"Hey Andi?"

"Hm?"

"You remember how you said I resembled Shrek?" He asked, running a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, what about it?"

"You're right. I do. And you're going to be my Princess Fiona one day. Like when we made that promise when we were little."

I looked up. "Chance, that was 13 years ago. Things have changed. If you wanted it to stay that way, you shouldn't have left me." I stated, old memories floating back to me.

"I'm sorry. But you are going to be my Princess one day. I'll make sure of that."

He looked at me with a serious face.

"Goodbye Princess."
