My mom and I were cleaning the attic. She had finally decided that it was time to get rid of all the junk that was cluttering the house.
So far the most interesting things I've found were a Beatles vinyl, spiders, and a hot pink lacy bra that my mom swears is not hers.
"Andi, come over here!" Mom hollered from across the room. I took large steps to her, carefully avoiding the boxes. "I found some of the old homemade videos! Go get your brothers and get the TV set up."
"So we're going to abandon the attic cleaning?"
"No..." She drawled, looking at me nervously. "We're just going to take a small break."
My mom doesn't like to clean all too much. She's a big procrastinator like me.
"Like the break we took five minutes ago?" I challenged, raising my eyebrow.
"Go get your brothers." Mom tutted, picking up an armful of tapes.

It wasn't long before all of us were seated in the living room. Mom put in the first tape, one of when I was 4.
The video showed a four year old version of me wearing my curly hair in piggy tails. I was dressed in a bright yellow sundress, and Chance and Alex stood beside me.
"Aw," mom gushed, "Those two were always so protective of you Andi. Even at such a young age."
Both the boys were holding my hand in theirs as we walked to the old play set we had in our backyard.
"You guys had just watched a romance movie with Anne and I." Mom continued as the video rolled.
I looked at her and she had a tear silently roll down her face.
"Andi," I turned my attention back to the tape. "Will you marwy me?" The younger version of Chance asked me, getting down onto one knee.
I heard mom and Anne squealing in the background.
"He's copying Ben!" Anne squealed. I'm guessing Ben was the guy who proposed in the movie.
"Yeah!" My younger self yelled out in excitement, hugging Chance. Alex was clapping his hands and cheering Chance on by the slide.
I watched myself kiss Chance's cheek and I felt mine heat up.
"You're not old enough to get married." I heard my mom say to the younger Chance and I.
"Why?" I pouted, sticking out my lower lip.
"Cause you're not old enough Sweetie." Anne repeated for my mom.
"I sowwy Chance." I said turning to him.
"It okay. We can when we older!"
"Pwomise?" I asked, holding out my little pinky finger.
"Pinky pwomise!" He swore, hooking his through mine.
The tape ended and mom started crying.
"A-Are you okay?" Austin stuttered, trying to stifle a laugh.
"Yeah," mom sniffled. "I just don't understand why you and Chance had a falling out." She explained, turning to me.
"Not everyone needs to." I got up, heading to my room.
"A come on!" Alex shouted, getting up to follow me.
"Go away. I'm just tired s'all." I mumbled, walking up the stairs.
I don't see why it matters. Everyone has falling outs, what makes Chance's and mine so different?
Why am I even friends with him again? I swore to myself that I never would forgive him. And I haven't forgiven him but being friends with him? I don't think I can do that either. That still leaves me at risk of being hurt again. And I can't let that happen.
I sighed, lying on my bed. "What am I gonna do?" I groaned, turning over.
I'm gonna distance myself from him. I don't want to be hurt again by him. Even if it was unintentional.
Hey guys! I'm sorry it's a short chapter but I promise the next one will be longer.
Anyone hear the news about One Direction? I was heartbroken. What about you?
Also I've decided to start asking a question I hope you guys will answer in the comments.
