Disaster Party

I nervously walk through the store full of nice clothes and jewelry. I felt out of place, mainly because everyone else was dressed a lot nicer than me. My faded clothes and dirty shoes seemed to clash with everything. It was Friday afternoon and I was preparing for the dinner party.

Since I didn't have any good clothes with me I decided to go buy a nice dress. I wanted to make a good impression on Amanda's parents. And yes, I know that they know I'm a hunter but maybe-just maybe- I could deceive them a little.

Ha, yeah right. You know they're just gonna try to kill you.

"Shut up." I whispered to my inner voice.

"Oh. I-I'm sorry miss." I heard a timid voice say.

Immediately, my thoughts were interrupted and I turned my gaze to a slim girl. She was short, well, shorter than me. Her brown hair reached her shoulders and brushed against her face every time she moved her head. Her clothes were expensive but she looked out of place wearing them. Her skin was a pretty caramel color and she had a nice face, but wore these big clunky glasses that almost made her appear unattractive. Almost.

"What?" I asked confused.

Her head was down and, honestly it looked like she was going to pee her pants. Was I that scary?

"I was asking if you would like some help, miss." She said still looking at the floor.

"Actually yeah, I do. Sorry if I scared you." I said apologetically.

"Please follow me." She said simply and scurried off.

After ten minutes of trying to convince her that I wasn't a scary person I found out that she goes to my school and her name is Sasha. We actually have science together. Apparently my episode with the blonde slut scared the living daylights out of her. My bad. Also, turns out that she's not human. She's a fairy. Maybe that's why she acts so timid.

In the end she found me a simple but pretty black dress (picture to the side/top) and some colorful earrings to top it off. Sasha insisted that I should wear some wedges but I chose a pair of converse instead. I was trying to make a good impression but not that good of an impression.

I was ready.

I nervously walked to the edge of a big forest just like the instructions on the paper - that Amanda gave me - told me to do. I may have waited for about two minutes before I heard a voice call out my name.

"Miss Birdie?" The voice asked coldly.

I turned around to see a tall middle aged woman. Her lips were in a straight line and there was a ghost of a scowl on her face. Her blonde hair hung loosely around her shoulders. I mean, she was pretty but she would have been prettier if she didn't look so stank.

"Yeah." I said

"Please follow me." She said as she walked away.

He strides were long so I had to speed walk to catch up to her. We arrived at a dirt road with a slick black car parked on it. She gestured for me to get in the passenger seat while she sat in the driver's. The ride was silent and tense. I could feel the hatred radiating off of her and I could see her gripping the steering wheel tightly; to the point that her knuckles were white.

Finally we reached Amanda's house - or should I say mansion? The place was huge reaching up to seven stories and it had gothic style about it. I could tell the house was very old but it was well kept. As soon as the car stopped I did not hesitate to open the door and get out.
