Mays POV

As soon as my alarm went off, I quickly sat up and turned it off. I got up and went to my closet and picked out a red halter top with black skinny jeans. I wore my new knee-high boots. I felt energy pumping through my veins. I can hardly stand! I'm so excited!!

Dawns POV
My alarm went off and I jumped up. More like attempted too at least. Paul's arm were wrapped around me tightly. "Shoot." I muttered remembering him comforting me last night after screaming. I managed to untangle myself from his arms and pushed him off the bed. He landed on the floor with woke up. "What the heck was that for?!?" He asked standing up. I jumped up and ran to my closet. "School!" I replied and he ran out of the room. I prayed no one saw him leave my room. I quickly changed into jeans with a chain, a black halter-style shirt and my knee high boots. Grabbing my phone and sticking it my back pocket, I brushed my hair and froze, looking in the mirror. My hair was softer now and looked brighter. The blue really showed and shine brightly. My face didn't look like I lived on the street anymore. I looked in the full body mirror and I noticed I look healthy and stronger. I went back to the mirror and traced my facial features in the mirror, a bit dazed. I don't look pathetic anymore.. I thought to myself. A soft knock sounded at my door and I opened it to find May. "Hi." She replied softly. I smiled at her and began to notice the changes she went through, in these last few days as well. She smile back softly, a bit sad and a bit excited. "Are you ready?" I asked and she nodded. She looked around behind her, making sure no one was around and she walked into the room and sat on my bed, leaning back she stared at the ceiling. "Dawn?" May asks softly, almost a whisper. "I really like it here. But..." She said and trailed off. "But?" I asked a bit irritated. She knew we couldn't stay in one place. Who would ever want us? "But I know that we can't. I don't want to get attached. It'll be painful when we have to leave." She whispered. I sat down and she sat up. I began to braid her hair and sighed. "That's the life we live May. There's pain in this world. That's why we were on the streets in the first place. There's evil. Nothing we can do about it." I said softly and she nodded a bit. "I know." She said sadly. There was another knock on my door and the door open slowly, revealing Paul and Drew. "We gotta go." Drew said and we nodded. May shook out her braid and we walked out.

As we drove to school, there was more silence. Caroline had already registered us and all we had to do now we get our schedule. As we entered the building, I looked around. We had many stares, of course me and May glared at them. We had to run a few times, due to Paul and Drew being part of the popular clan. We soon reached the office and the principal waved at us before handing us our schedules. "Drew, Paul would you mind showing the around the school. You live with them so getting along here should be pretty easy for them." He said and the boys nodded. The bell rang and the principal handed us papers. "Give them to your homeroom teacher, they'll explain where you were and it'll get you out of trouble for It. It give you a pass out of First period. I'll also send your teachers a message." He said explaining. We stepped out into the hall and the boys stared at us. "Well this is Avalyon High." Drew said spreadimg his arms out wide. "Doesn't matter. We'll be gone before you know it." I muttered and Drew looked at May confused. "You could stay. Mom took Paul in. I'm sure she'd be fine with you." He offered and I shook my head. "Your mom won't have 4 teens in the house at once." I said and his expression faltered a bit. "We'll introduce you to out friends at lunch." Drew said and I shook my head no again. "Wouldn't want to mess up your perfect little reputation." May said. "What?" Paul asked confused. "What's happens to you guys if they found out we were arrested?" I asked and Drew shook his head. "Not good. But still?" He asked again. "We don't need to cause trouble for the short time we're here." May explained. Paul huffed and started walking. "Let's go. We need to show then around still." He said and we followed.

Mays POV
Eventually we walked onto 2nd period and I clutched Dawns arm as people stared at us. "We were showing them around. They're new here. Mom took them in temporarily." Drew explained and the teacher nodded. "I'm Mrs. Allison. You are?" She asked. "May." I replied softly looking at people. Two young girls waved and smiled at me. "Dawn." Dawn replied a bit rudely. "Take a seat anywhere." Mrs. Allison said nicely and the tow girls waved us over. We sat down next to them. "I'm Misty. We're getting ready to start a new chapter so today will be a free day. " The girl with orange hair said. "I'm Leaf." The brunette said. Drew and Paul sat on the opposite side of us. "Finally left the popularity life?" Leaf asked. "Nah. Gotta stick by them. They might kill someone." Paul said smirking. Dawn hit him. "What was that for?!" He asked. Dawn crossed her arms. "I like her already." Misty said laughing. The boy with brown spiky hair and a boy with raven black hair came over. "Hi I am Ash." The raven haired boy, Ash, greeted. "Hey ladies. I'm Gary Oak. Remember the name." The spiky brunette said grinning. "Why would I ever need to remember your name?" Dawn asked rudely, looking at him. He looked wounded for a minute then smirked and turned to me. "What about you?" He asked. "We don't have a reason too. We won't be here much longer." Dawn said. Misty looked at us confused. "Why?" "This is just temporary." Dawn replied. They were still confused. "Can I tell em?" Drew asked looking at me. I looked at Dawn and she huffed. "Whatever." She muttered and I nodded. "We were walking through Gondalin one day and-" Drew was interrupted by Ash. "Isn't that town extremely dangerous?" He asked and Paul nodded. Drew glared at him and continued. "As I was saying. We ran into these girls. They were being chased by the police. Of course the got away but a week later my mom got a call about these two. They were either going to jail or with us. So mom took them in." Drew said. "So you were in jail?" Ash asked and Dawn nodded. "What was it like?" She shook her head, signalling she was not going to answer. She picked up her book and opened it up. He then asked the question I was dreading, hoping that he would ask, praying. "What did you do? What were you in for?" He asked and Dawn slammed the book shut making people look at her and jump at the sound. She glared at then and they went back to their business. To our luck the bell rang and we walked out as fast as we could and to our next class.

Lunch soon came and Dawn and I walked into the cafeteria. Misty was waving to us and we got our trays and sat down next to them.

Dawns POV
As they started talking about random things, May was laughing so hard. I smiled a bit at the sight. I found myself laughing a bit and realized it felt good too.
