Hey! Sorry for this super late update! Hope you enjoy! ~Emily~

Drews POV
Sitting in the diner with May I was getting ready to talk to her before I seen Dawn stride into the restaurant with Paul following behind. "What'd you say to get her back?" I asked. "Nothing. I asked him a question. Maybe he finally opened his eyes." Dawn commented. "I think It's time to go." May said standing up and I nodded. While I payed for the bill and the girls walked off towards the car. I looked at Paul cautiously, he shrugged in reply. Getting inside Dawn rolled her eyes at us. "You honestly think we'd steal your car?" Dawn said and May started giggling. "Like we'd steal this?" May replied. Paul grinned and I rolled my eyes. The silence set in pretty quickly. It was uneasy again. I wonder how they'll react to school?... Taking a deep breath I pulled into the driveway and got out. It was pretty late and we all went in. "Night." May said and walked into her room. Dawn walked into hers without saying a word and Paul stood there awkwardly next to me. "What'd she ask you?" I asked. "She asked me if I knew why she was in the streets. She said nothing lasts and everyone leaves." He said. "Who knows.." I replied and walked off to my room and Paul to his.

Paul's POV
As soon as I heard the scream I sat up in bed. I jumped out of bed and went into the hall. You couldn't hear it in there. Because Dawns room was next to mine I could hear what was happening. Quickly running into her room I seen her fighting something in her sleep. "Dawn.." I said trying to wake her up. I pinned her down and her hands beside her body to stop her from flailing. "Dawn!" I said again and their time she woke up with tears in her eyes. "Huh?" She said tiredly and I noticed in the moonlight the deep bags under her eyes. She had hidden them with makeup. "Are you Okay? You were screaming." I said searching her face for something, I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for. "Oh I'm sorry. Just go back to bed I'll be fine." She said midst yawn. "You don't see like it. What happened?" I asked. "None of your business. You wouldn't understand." She said. I got up and sat beside her in the bed. "You know. It took me months before I could sleep without screaming." I said after a few minutes of silence. She looked up at me in confusion. "I grew up in Gondalin as well. Though I was lucky when Dianna took me in. I still toss'n'turn all night, unable to sleep. I know Gondalin isn't easy to live in. My parents and brother died in wreck. I was left on my own traveling from place to place. Stealing whatever it Is I could find. The world's not what they thought. It's tough. It tough for me still." I said looking off in space. I felt a shift on the bed and then a weight on my shoulder. Dawn had moved over right beside me and layed her head on my shoulder. "She's innocent you know?" She said. She was talking about May. "I really hope somewhere there's a place for her. She's too kind to be beaten by this world like this. I hope this works out for her." She said quietly. "What about you?" I asked. "Nothing matter till she's safe. I'm a lost hope. I'll be fine." She replied. I wrapped my arm around her. "What would she do without you? She needs you with her. You're not lost anymore. You've been found." I told her. She hugged me tightly and I leaned back onto the bed and held her tight. Pulling the blanket over us, I whispered to her. "Sweet dreams. You deserve them."
