Dawns POV
We drove to the cafe after school and to say at the very least. I wasn't very comfortable. We sat down on couches and loveseats in the corner. I positioned myself so I could watch the exits. A habit that's to hard to break. "So like seriously did you guys get bailed out of Jail by these guys?" Ash asked, i was reminded of why me and May where on the streets in the first place. I drank my coffee quitely. Watching the exits. Calculating my escape. "Yes. Unfortunately we did." May said sheepishly. She was a little too friendly to them for my taste. "What was it like?" Ash asked leaning onto the coffee table. "Ash! What's with all the questions?" Misty exclaimed hitting Ash with a magazine. "The streets? Or jail?" I spoke up. Everyone looked at me in surprise. "Both I guess?" Ash said. "Jail was nothing compared to living on the streets. Especially in Gondalin." I said and took a sip of my coffee. May continued to talk with the others. I tuned out most of their conversation. "Seriously you've never driven a car before? Or been to a concert?" Leaf asked. "So much we have to teach you." Gary said. I set my cup down rather loudly. "No point in acting like we're going to be around. Like I said it's temporary. We can't get to comfy. God forbid we get our hopes up." I said and walked out of the cafe.

Mays POV
Paul stood up to go after her but I put my hand up. "Don't. It's no use. She's got a point." I said and sighed. "You don't want to stay here?" Misty said. "Even if i did what choice would it make? We have a bounty over our heads. Everything we learn to love, gets taken from us. Our foster parents, our homes, our pets. No use getting too comfy. But I will cherish my time with you all." May said smiling sadly. "What will happen?" Drew asked. "They'll come for us. And you'll be a trap. We don't want you getting mixed up in our mess." May said slowly rising. "Well of you insist. Let's make the most out of it then." Misty said smiling and standing up. "I say we take her to the mall." Leaf said smiling. Pail slipped outside and went to find Dawn. He found Dawn in an alleyway, and followed her. He felt like he was being watched. Dawn walked out into a clearing and was instantly swarmed by men. "We told you. You can never run from us." A guy said with a cigar in his mouth. For the first time I have I ever seen her like this, she looked truly scared. I took out my knife, my mother had always made me and Drew carry for protection. I took a deep breath. They'd outnumber her if I didn't do something. Dawn noticed me and gestured her head slightly to run left. I assumed she would give me a signal. She took out a knife and ran towards the man nearest to the alleyway. He was shocked he didn't know what to do at first. She ducked around him as he swung his gun and she grabbed my hand pulling me in a full run along with her. "You know this place better than I do! What turn?" She yelled. I looked around. "Keeping going straight, one of these alleyways should lead out to the mall!" I yelled and we continued running. I felt an adrenaline much different than I have ever felt before. But I noticed my heart was always racing around her. I felt different around her. As if she was some level of pure excitement I had yet to gain. Besides getting shot at and running out of a rough neighborhood, I felt good, nevertheless I had felt better than I had ever. When we reached the mall she grinned at me. I leaned over to catch my breath, and noticed she had still held my hand, though I doubt she noticed as she was looking around to see if we had lost our enemy. Then she let go of my hand and looked at me. "You feel good right? Excited? The adrenaline rushing through your body?" She said grinning. "Strangely I feel better than ever." I said. "That's how your supposed to feel your whole life. Not wasting your time on trivial and tedious matters." She said breathless at the idea. We walked into the mall and looked around. "Supposed to have fun right?" I asked, grinning. She looked at me weirdly. "What do you have In mind?" She asked. "I don't know. I'll let it come to me. Let's go find something to do in these stores." I said, for once letting life take me by the unknown.
