Elemental Disaster

Chapter 9 - Not Gone...

"Hey X, you sure this is the right way?" asked Luna. Xreato nodded. Luna turned into an eagle and searched in the sky. "See anything, Luna?" asked Destiny. Luna flew back down.

"Nope, only trees. Xreato, are you sure we're NOT lost??" Xreato tried to remember. "Yep, we're lost," she concluded. Destiny and Luna sighed and groaned. The three friends took a break and set camp as sunset appeared in the blue sky. "Alright, time for some cooked marshmallows!" shouted Destiny. She made a small fire, put the marshmallows on the stick and waited for it to be roasted.

"Xreato, can you wish for some yummy fish??" asked Luna with her puppy eyes. "Yes- NO. Can't waste our powers too much, especially wishing powers. It sucks up a lot of our magic energy," explained Xreato. "We'll just have to fish."

"Do you have any fishing rods?" asked Destiny. Xreato sneered and brought out three fishing rods. Luna grabbed one and started fishing at a nearby river. Destiny and Xreato joined in. "Too bad we only have marshmallow as bait," moaned Xreato. Destiny, on the other hand, was catching a bunch of fish with her fishing skills.

"Yay! D, can you please share your fishes with us?" Luna pleaded. Destiny nodded her head and roasted the fishes. "Xreato, you said we're lost, right?" asked Destiny, while munching on some marshmallows.

"Well, my sense of direction is really bad..." explained Xreato. "But I have a feeling we're close to it." Luna tilted her head slightly. "It's just instinct."

"Well, GPS can't find anything- it is related to a high source of energy, though. Similar to a black hole- so the closer we get, the more our powers are drained, and we can summon less power, and power to find it," Destiny said, "But-"

Luna stared at her. "BUT WHAT?" Xreato looked up. "Yeah, but what?"

"Well, I MIGHT be able to store our elemental powers into our hearts, but that means NOT using our powers UNTIL we reach the stones or something. Meaning use it before we arrive, and all of it will be drained. If we keep it till the temple, then- we will have SOME power," Destiny said.

"Well, that's not the best thing to do-" Luna said. "I know!" Destiny said, munching on a marshmallow. "So, we do it. Take the risk!" Xreato said. "We gotta try-"

"Okay. So we have to stock up on food and water," Luna said. "Should we get instant stuff? Then Desty makes fire-" Xreato said, then stopped- remembering the risk they would take.

"Don't worry, X. I got instant noodles and Mi Sedap that will last us a year! PLUS, I can just set a robot on fire by meddling with the wires, so that's covered," Destiny said.

"Oh yeah, but water?" Xreato said. "I'll help us with sticking to a path closest to the river, so I can get water for us!" Destiny said. "Okay. I think the animals in the forest can bring us fruit now to eat-" Luna said. She whistled. Soon after Luna whistled, bison, moose, birds and bears rushed through the area. Luna made a series of noises to the animals and soon nearly all the animals rushed back with fruits and vegetables. "Woah! Nice job Luna!" Destiny said began taking food from animals, Xreato, on the other hand, had been able to set up a small storage space in the earth and had managed to reinforce a small trap door on top of the small space with sticks. "We'll store our food in here for now." Xreato commanded "Kay," Luna said and dismissed the animals and they began feasting.

Luna had managed to find planks of wood at an abandoned camp site "Lu, why didn't you gather resources?" Xreato questioned "S-something w-was f-f-following me..." Luna said shivering, she had fallen into the river while trying to escape the presence. "The only thing I managed to get was wood... The place seemed eerie and dark, like something died there..."

The next day when they awoke, they found that their backpacks had gone missing! "Oh. My. Dog..." Luna cursed and inspected the ground "WHO WOULD HAVE DONE THIS?! DESTINY IS THIS ONE OF YOUR PRANKS CAUSE' IT AIN'T FUNNY!" Xreato howled and almost throttled Destiny but luckily was held back by Luna who tackled her onto the snow. "I'm going to look for footprint traces or hair." Luna said and got out her sword, she put on a necklace with a weird symbol, "Lu, what that?" Destiny said. "A luck stone, removes all evil that could follow me, its so powerful that it could disintegrate a normal being on touch," Luna said and walked off. Luna saw a tree that had been cut down near her area, it looked like it had been chopped down recently, like a few hours ago. Hm... she thought and kept walking. She walked along the river when she saw a red stain near a rock Oh dog... she thought and ran toward it. Blood. On the rock was blood. Definitely blood... There was a smear of red on the rock which she saw was fresh, probably a day ago or a few hours there was another smear on the tree a few steps ahead of her. She followed until she had come across a clearing. There was a book and ashes there, Luna inspected the scene and she picked up the journal. It was written by probably a female.

Dear diary, Kayda here!
Today was my warrior ceremony! I managed to make senior warrior!

Luna skipped ahead.

Dear diary, today me and Kade went fish-

Oh dog Luna thought and flipped to the next page.

I'm the only one left, we got attacked by an unknown being, I tried to help but Das was too far away. It flooded the whole village. They are all gone... The thing... It's gonna get me...

Luna flipped page.

Please if anyone finds this... Kill the thing... I know how to stop it. First...

On the page were steps to make a kind of dream catcher, but much harder.

Luna gasped and looked at the ashes. She fell to the snow, took the ashes and scattered them in the wind. I'm sorry, Luna thought sympathically.

Xreato and Destiny flipped through the pages and sighed. "Wait a moment..." Destiny suddenly said, breaking the silence "What Desty?" Xreato asked. "Fire, trees, floods..." Destiny rasped "Um, what?" Luna questioned. "ELEMENTAL POWERS!" Destiny screamed "I GET IT! I GET IT!" Destiny howled, but then became quiet. "Jelous, is not gone..."
