I smiled and cried tears of joy when I saw Edward's little golden antenna of hair peek out through the gate. He reached through the opening and stepped into the room. The gate closed behind him. Truth vanished and he ran over to me, hugging me. "Let's get you out of here." I put my good arm around him. "But what will the price be?" I asked. He laughed. "You have already paid the price for me and Al. I can pay it." I closed my eyes. "I will pay it. Truth can take more of my healing, or my soul, or even more of my body. I don't care. The toll for you would be even greater. This was my choice." He grunted and pulled me towards the gate. It opened in front of us and grabbed us both, separating us. I reached doubt towards Ed, but our fingers missed each other. "Ed!" I screamed. He yelled. "Ari!" The gate swallowed us both.

Edward's POV
A flash if blue light enveloped me. I was thrown back into our world. I hit the grass beneath me and looked around. Al and Winry were bent over me, worried. "Where is she? Where is Ari?" I asked frantically. Al shook his head. "She's not here. Are you sure she's here? What was the price?" My eyes widened. "She said she'd pay it. I refused, of course, but she has a will to rival mine. It was so sad, seeing her like that.. all of the limbs on the right side of her body were gone. Her wing, her arm, her leg.. and her left eye was red. Not like she was crying, but the pupil was bright red. It had a huge scar around it. I know she's in this world.. but where?"

Ari's POV
I blinked a few times. My vision was fighting itself, flickering between the gateway and the material world. It felt like my soul was being torn apart. I screamed out in pain. In the material world, something was happening to me. I was lying on the ground. Dirt was pressing into my skin and wounds. I couldn't move at all, and the wounds on my leg and arm were torn back open. "Ed.. ward?" I mumbled hoarsely. A man moved into my vision. "Like a gift from god. A new victim."

I screamed in agony. My right wrist was tied to my torso, which was tied to the ceiling by some rope. I weakly tried to move, to no effect. A blade tore across my stomach. It cut a sliver of skin off of my shoulder, which was the only thing left of my left arm. My shoulder ended at my collarbone and curved down into my side. I dropped my head and closed my eyes. The man cleaned off his knife and set it down. "I'll be back. It's not like you could go anywhere." My scraggly dark red hair was tangled down my back. I had flashbacks of Ed and Al's smiles and their hug with Winry. I felt a burst of adrinaline and unknotted the rope around my arm and torso. I fell to the ground and crawled over to the table, which I rammed into. The knife fell to the ground with a clash and thud. I grabbed it and crawled to the door. It was thrown open with a huge crash and I fell back. The man had returned and was angry. "So you can move? We'll just have to fix that." He grabbed a scalpel off of the ground and came at me. Is creamed and rolled to the side. He hit the ground and I scrambled back. He yelled with rage and charged at me again. Tears flew everywhere and I screamed again. He hit my shoulder and I lost my grip on the floor. He started to fall on top of me, so I put the knife iver.my heart and pointed the blade at him. He fell on top of it and blood poured out of his mouth. I screamed and pushed his body off of me. I put my knee up against my face and my hand covered my head. I extended my wing and the stump of my left wing. Scoping out the room, I spotted a large stick. I took some rope and tied it to my stump leg. It was strong, so I could put my weight on it. Half of my thigh was gone, but I could still move it. I held my arm and stumbled out of the building. Blood peeked through my fingers and I collapsed, coughing blood. I pulled my head off of the ground and sunlight enveloped my face. I blinked a few times and put my hand over my eyes. It was cloudy out, but I didn't care. My left shoulder was digging into the gravel. It got into my leg wound, which was starting to reopen. I dragged myself along the road, which was where I had landed. I realized that my power should still work. Blue flames surrounded me, charting the pavement. It also burnt the edges of my already torn clothes. My silver pocket watch was lying on the ground. I pulled it close to my chest and closed my eyes. My consciousness faded quickly, and I heard the wheels of a car.
