I blinked a few times and heard screaming. I looked around in a panic. Envy was sitting in a chair, having fun with his powers. He changed into me, then Edward, and then a blonde girl. He glanced up at me and changed back to his original form. "So Charcoal is awake, huh? Lust!" Lust peeked her head out of a door I didn't see earlier. "The girl is awake." Lust ' s face was splattered with blood. "One minute. I'm busy." Envy sighed and continued messing around. Lust stepped out of the room, the screams silenced. She walked up to me and Envy raised the chains up again. She tore the bandages and smiled. "At least you haven't lost all of your healing abilities." I glared at her. "Who do you have in there?" She laughed. "No one of your concern. She's dead, after all." My eyes widened. She put her hand on my shoulder, but I moved it with disgust. "She's not actually dead. We just faked her death a few months ago. She's resting." Tears streamed down my face. I heard a door creak open and light flooded in. My heart leaped for a moment before the light disappeared and my eyes readjusted. Greed waltzed in. "Ah, kid. Long time no see. How many years has it been? 12?" I grunted. Lust turned to look at him and put her hand on her hip. "She doesn't remember us. That'd why we need to make her remember. Do you know if Sloth and Wrath are coming? Pride probably won't grace us with his presence. He never really liked her." Greed shrugged. "So, how do we make the kid remember? I presume you've tried the rocks?" Lust nodded. "The rocks only unlocked her main ability. She caught on fire. I'd say pain is our best bet right now." Greed smirked. "And that's why you called me." Gray creeped up his arms and he punched me in the gut. Envy laughed. Blood dribbled out of my mouth. I felt warm and flames surrounded me. They spread to Lust and Greed, who standing nearby. My hands were chained together and hooked to a metal hook, so I used a crounching Greed as a boost to jump up and disconnect the chain from the hook. I started sprinting for the door and rammed it. I realize the homunculi were crippled by the fire, so I willed it to spread onto Gluttony and Envy. I ran towards the room with the girl. It creaked open to reveal a half conscious girl lying on the floor. I threw her over my shoulder and ran out of the room, and then out of the warehouse. The girl blinked a few times, then screamed and tried to move. I grabbed her arm to keep her on my back and sprinted towards a dead end. It was a warehouse on the edge of a dock. The girl screamed down more and I ducked behind some boxes. "Shh. You're okay now. What's your name?" She looked at me with big, teary eyes. "Winry. You're not Lust, are you?" I shook my head. Blood ran down my cheek from my mouth and I felt the pain in my stomach get worse. I grabbed it and clenched my teeth. Winry put her hand out towards me but I stopped her. "I'm fine. You should worry about yourself. Holding the fire is making my injuries worse. You need to run while I hold them off with the fire." She shook her head. "I'm not leaving you. What's your name?" She asked. I sighed. "Ari. I can try to block the warehouse up, but that'll make me worse and they'll break it down quickly." I pressed my hands together and put my right hand over my left. Four walls of rock rose around the warehouse when I placed my hands on the ground. I cried out in pain and Winry touched my shoulder. "No transmutation circle.. Would you happen to know Edward Elric?" I laughed. "I'm his apprentice. I owe him, so I have to help him get Al back." Her eyes brightened. "I was his childhood friend!" I smiled. The walls surrounding the warehouse collapsed. An angry looking Greed and Envy stepped out. Gluttony and Lust followed them. They were burnt, but they regenerated quickly. "Why do we bother with that kid?" Greed asked. I sighed and looked at Winry. "Run. They won't kill me, but they will kill you. They think they know me. Get out of here and tell Ed about this place and the homunculus' weakness to fire. Go!" Tears dripped down my face. She dashed around the box and ran away from the upcoming fight. A woman grabbed her and held her, walking over to Lust. Lust took her and pointed a sharp finger at her skull. I stepped out from behind the box. "Let her go! Take me instead!" I yelled. Lust laughed. "No thanks. You will probably remember soon enough and I'm getting tired of torturing you. On the other hand, this lady is believed to be six feet under. If she would get out, that would cause mayhem. Go, and remember me. If you tell her friends and someone comes after her, she and dear Edward will die." Flames danced around me. They were small and weak, but still burning hot. I grew my wings out of my back and closed my eyes. "I'm sorry, Winry. I'll be back for you." I flew off into the sky, tears trailing behind me.
