River's POV
I walked towards the large gates. I was finally home. I wonder how much Stella grew, before remembering she hadn't. She never would. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned to see Dave. "Why, hello, Taku. Nice to see you, again." He said, smiling. He was a bit of a mystery. No one knows for sure why he talks like that. I say it's just a shell. He's the only one who went to try to get his family, and the only one to be rejected by them. He just doesn't want to hurt anymore, I guess. I smiled back.
"Same to you. How has everyone been since I left?"
"Pretty much the same. Stella's been extra worried. Regi has been a bit irritable. Kas tells me that she's worried about him, but says she doesn't know why he's like this."
"Oh well... This is a sucky time to come back, huh?" I chuckled.
"I'd like to say yes, but I think that this is a time we are all needed together. I heard some nasty rumors."
"Rumors? I didn't think you listened to rumors."
"Only when they have to do with a bunch of lower demons over throwing Mistress Chaos."
