Chapter Ten

Reed P.O.V.

I couldn't keep the grin off my face. It had been two weeks since Leena had been released from the hospital and things couldn't be going any better. School would let out for the year in just a couple weeks and I was completely ready for summer break. Basketball season was over, but Sam had kept me pretty busy, readying me to take over next year. Surprisingly the majority of the brothers were fine with the transition, but a few had shown their resistance. Those few had been invited to leave, by Sam, but only one had actually chose to quit the frat. Paul hadn't been seen since the party, where he'd switched the tapes and tried to humiliate me. After a week's absence, Sam had unlocked Paul's bedroom door to box up his things. What we'd discovered had made my blood run cold. One whole wall, in his room, was some sort of sick shrine. It had pictures of Leena and me. Sometimes just Leena and other times just me, so we couldn't even be sure whom Paul's fascination was with. Sam had called the police, who had come to take pictures, documenting everything and then Sam had taken everything down. A new member now resided in that room and with Paul's growing absence, my unease had begun to fade.

I'd been spending every free moment I had with Leena. God, I loved that woman. As girlie as it sounded, she made my heart flutter, but also made my body tingle with want at the same time. I glanced down at the flowers, that I'd just purchased, and again a goofy grin appeared on my face. I couldn't wait to see her beautiful, surprised, face when I gave them to her.

I knew that we were getting close to the time when Leena would fully give herself to me, physically. We'd been fooling around every chance we got, but she was technically still a virgin. I couldn't wait for that time when we would finally be joined as one, but I was content to wait. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be content to simply sit and hold someone's hand, but I loved when we did that. We'd curl up on her couch, snuggle under a blanket, and I'd hold her hand in mine. Those moments were so sweet and pure. Even when we did start having sex, someday, I hoped we would still have moments like that.

Josie's unexpected pregnancy had really made Leena nervous about sex, especially when Blake had kind of turned into a dick lately. Leena didn't want anything like that to happen with us, but she had it wrong. Blake was being a dick, because he was having a hard time adjusting to the idea of being a dad. Blake still wanted to go out and party. Yes, he would have loved for Josie to be able to party with him, so it wasn't so much the idea of being with one woman forever that was scaring him. It was that he now had responsibly coming his way and there wasn't anything he could do about it. Adoption had been mentioned to them, but Josie had refused to even listen. Blake had surprisingly refused as well, which led me to believe that he would come around eventually. I just hoped that Josie could be patient while Blake figured everything out. If I was to accidently get Leena pregnant, I wouldn't be like that. Yes, I'd rather wait until we were both graduated, with decent jobs, and married first, but I wouldn't panic. I knew that Leena was it for me and whatever came our way, we'd tackle it together.

The ringing of my cell phone, had me pausing to dig my phone out of my pocket and I answered, without reading the caller I.D. "Hello?"

"Hello Pledge."

I tripped, mid-step, and would have face planted into the sidewalk, had there not been a park bench there for me to grab onto. I instantly collapsed onto it. My earlier happiness forgotten. I had no idea why Paul Simmons would be calling me, especially after his long absence, but it couldn't mean anything good.

I swallowed past the lump in my throat and asked, "What do you want Paul?"

Paul laughed, sounding deranged, "It's not what I want, brother. It's what you want. Although, now that you mention it, for starters, I want you to quit the fraternity."
